And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose. . Romans 8:28

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 / KJV

Build Me A Snowman

Let's get ready for some FUN!

This week's Freshly Brewed Challenge is
one of my favorites. I LOVE snowmen and creating winter themed cards!

SO why don't you

Come play along with us HERE

Here are a few cards I created for this challenge.

This was a super fun card to make!
I used the SCS Twisted Card tutorial for this one.
It was a little confusing, but not really.
Probably because I havent made anything other than a standard A2 card in
well... FOREVER!!!

Top view:

(has a pocket to hold a gift card or whatever your creative mind
can think of to add to it! :)

Let's talk about LEFT OVERS!!!
This card is a GREAT way to use scrap papers! I did not keep cutting papers out
the way the tutorial instructed. I cut out a template out of card stock and was able to use
the pieces of scraps to create the panels for these types of cards.
Maybe a little more time consuming, maybe, just a tad, but
was worth it (for me) to be able to use the bits and pieces.
Still have more, mind you. These cuts leave you lots of little acute triangles. Just sayin!
But it is oh so fun!!!

This card is being entered into the JINGLE BELLES holiday left overs challenge

Digital Stamp: SNOW WHAT FUN

 I LOVE snowmen.
This image was a fun one to draw and color.
They just make me happy.
I kept the base a simple one layer and added little white snowballs (one by one) to the card front.
I used double sided tape to create the gold glitter stripes

This card is being entered into the following challenges:

Hope to see you play along with us in our challenge.

Have a beautiful and blessed day!

You're My Cup of Cocoa

Happy Wednesday!
I am so happy to be here sharing my little Christmas creation with you.
My kids are SO READY to get out the Christmas decorations.
I just haven't had the time :(
They have been practicing every weekend for the upcoming
Nutcracker performance at their dance studio and dancing
every day of the week for 4 - 5 hours on top of that. And add homeschooling...
cooking... cleaning....
We will do it soon though. Maybe the day after Thanksgiving. That is usually
our tradition. They just wanted to do it earlier.

Here is a sassy little Christmas card I created.
It is pretty simple and fun. I used some chunky glittery stuff
I found at hobby lobby. I think it was supposed to be confetti or something.
It looks like little diamonds. But isn't it gorgeous?!? You should see it IRL!
Blingin! LOL!!!

I used the Fresh Brewed Designs digital stamp:

Thank you for stopping by!
I hope you have a very happy and blessed day.

Fresh Brewed Friends - Thank you

I wasn't sure where I was going with this post today.
So many of my friends are going through so many different things.
Some happy, some painful, some healing.
Some I feel I haven't spoken to in forever and some that after several
years popped back in to say hello. Life gets weird sometimes,
but no matter what... where... or how long it has been,
God sends us friends to help remind us that He cares and He loves us
and He has someone out there, just for us, to be there to talk, share, listen
and be a friend through different times and stages of our lives.
God is so good!
I often feel like a failure as a friend. Life gets in the way and I don't stop in and
say HELLO near as often as I should. Then I feel guilty and totally disappear.
I know it's wrong, but it's what I do. :(
Have you ever crocheted and unraveled a row of stitches?
It goes pretty fast, doesn't it?
Easy. Too easy sometimes.
There it goes. Whatever you had made, gone in an instant.
One mistake and poof, unraveled.
But the good thing in that is, you get to start over.
Fresh and new. That's how God works with our lives too.
If we make a mistake, we can't erase it, but he can when we ask for forgiveness.
It all becomes new again. Clean. Fresh.
And we begin again.
When it comes to TRUE God sent friendships though *even marriages*
we have something even better. We don't need to start new. We have knots.
There are knots all throughout our 'project'. Happy knots, tear filled knots,
laughed till your stomach hurt knots, up all night knots, shared memories knots.
You can't unravel true friendship and love. So if there is something going on.
Someone you feel you've hurt or let down. IF someone has hurt you or let you down,
try to think about the knots. They are the perfect reminders of why you
were brought together and why God placed this person in your life.
What happens when the project is finished? Sometimes we do move on.
Some friends slowly slip out of our lives and we start new ones.
But that's ok too. If it is something God created and that God
is leading you on different paths, then think of it as His way of starting a new
project. Whether it be a coaster or an afghan, he has a work for you and will
bring people to your life to make it better. You just need to try to be the person
God is leading you to be, trust in Him, give it ALL to Him and follow in his perfect plan
for your life.

SOOOOOO That wasn't planned. Not at all. And was probably confusing and a mess to read.
I was thinking  sitting here thinking of how much of a terrible
friend I have been and how life has gotten in the way and God lead me through all of that.
He is so good, isn't He?

I have a fun little card to share with you today.

This card was created for our SO THANKFUL challenge at
I used the digital stamp: Fresh Brewed Friends

I also used the ADORABLE Sweet Sunday Sketch 295
as my inspiration piece. LOVE their sketches!!!

Who want's a Christmas Latte?

I Do! I Do!!!

But my Christmas latte would probably just be regular or bold coffee
with a bit of cream. I am not a big sugary, mostly milk coffee drinker.
Bring on the bold baby!!!
I do, from time to time, enjoy a cup of flavored coffee.
My favorite (that I haven't had in years) is
It is realllllly yummmmmmmy!!!

This weeks Freshly Brewed Challenge is called
We want you to create a card featuring your favorite
caffeinated beverage... or decaffeinated. Whatever you prefer :)
Doesn't have to be a latte or coffee. Tea and hot cocoa are welcome too :)

I used the FBD Digital Stamp:

I used papers from the American Crafts Hot Cocoa stack.
I also added glossy accents to the cup to make it more realistic.
The fan folded paper and candy cane striped twine are one of my favorite parts :)

Hope to see you play along with us at Freshly Brewed Challenges.

Have a beautiful and blessed day!

Word Art Wednesday #209

Coffee's brewing.
The sun is shining.
My beautiful babies are still sleeping and
I am getting ready to send my husband off to work.
(while wishing he could be off and just stay with us today... every day)
God is so good to us!

I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am for Him.
Not just for all he has done for me and my family
this year with my mom going through surgery and Chemo,
financially, protecting my children and my family...
That list goes ON AND ON.
But I am so thankful for Him and WHO HE IS!

If you haven't heard that song, CLICK HERE to be directed to
YouTube :)

Here is the card I created for today's

I purchased a scrap pack of paper from a scrapbook site
several months ago. Could have quite honestly been a year ago.
Either way, I haven't gotten around to using any of it yet :/
I was digging through my huge box of paper (wish I had more room
for my crafty stuff. It shares a room with my washer, dryer, freezer, pantry, and
computer table. And the room isn't really big at all... soo.....)
and stumbled upon this beautiful, fall looking piece.
It is by Sis Boom for daisyd's called Sheherazade #17002

Thank you for stopping by today.
Check out this weeks amazing sponsors.
Hope to see you play along!

Thanks .... for Pumpkin Spice Lattes

I have a confession to make.
I haven't even gotten a PSL yet. AHHHH!!!
Have I lost my ever loving mind?
I am thinking yes. HAHAHA!!!!!
I have to get one seeing as they already have the red cups.
I feel funny getting a PSL in a red cup.....

Well. I am here, late, with my Freshly Brewed Challenges creation
I had to go out of town to attend a funeral for my husbands coworker and friend.
We took the kids and stopped into DC for a while before heading home.
The kids got to buzz through parts of the Smithsonian and see some
monuments. It was a fast trip, but we got to spend time together and
share some special memories.

I created this card using the Fresh Brewed Designs Digital Stamp:

I used the SKETCH at Sweet Sunday Sketch #293 for this card

THANKS for stopping by and visiting with me today.

I hope you have a very blessed and happy day.

No words

It's Thursday.
It feels like days have passed since my last post.
I guess today was just that long of a day.
I attended a funeral for one of my husbands co workers today.
She was a newly promoted sergeant at the police department. 38 years old.
Single mom. Had a 12 year old son. I didn't know her that well, but
spoke with her on several occasions at different luncheons, ceremonies, parties, etc.
She was a beautiful person. Happy. Caring. Selfless. Loving.
My heart was broken for her. I lost it a few times Sunday when she died.
I felt so badly for her son, her mom, her dad, her family.
I went to the funeral not really expecting to break down like I did.
Seeing all of the policemen lined up and out the door.
Seeing her family and her son. The video. All of it. My heart was so heavy.
I prayed and reflected and cried. My poor kids. They had never been to a
funeral. My son didn't know what to do. He sort of sat there and was wiggly and
played with his tie. My daughter lost it. She wept. She watched the video.
Her heart broke for poor little Nate. All of it was so overwhelming for her.
I tried to keep it together for her and comforted her and tried to calm her.
It was just all so sad. We are traveling to Virginia next week to attend her
funeral at her home town. My daughter doesn't want to go. I don't know what we'll do.
I have to pray about it and let her decide what she can handle.
Please keep this family in your prayers. They are dealing with something that
none of us would ever want to deal with.  Her death was so unexpected and so sudden.

That's all I have to talk about tonight. I had a card to share, but
really don't want to after writing and thinking about today's events.
I really just want to make coffee, sit with my husband, kiss my kids goodnight
and pray.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.
You are all such a blessing to me.

Lots of love,

I Ain't Afraid.... of a Freshly Brewed Challenge

Good Morning.
I am here with a super fast post.
Don't blink.
You just might miss it..

This card was created for our new
Freshly Brewed Challenge - Green Slime.
(use lots of green or just a pop)

I went all literal with it and made some green slime.
I had some scrap neon green paper, drew my slime on it
using glossy accents, allowed it to dry, then cut it out. I loved how slimy and
gooey it looks :)

Digital Stamp:

I LOVE the sketch challenge at Sweet Sunday Sketch.
Her sketches are always so clean and fun to work with.
I have another card using this sketch (Christmas themed) that I will
probably share tomorrow. Anyway -

The glitter piece is scrap from a poster my friend made the other day.
Her sweet little girl is running for class reporter and we were able to make her
an AWESOME poster for it while waiting at dance this past weekend.
And I grabbed up her scraps :) hehehe!

The other paper is by Bo Bunny - double sided - boo crew dot.

I hope to see you play along in our freshly brewed challenge.
Thanks for stopping by!
