I made both of these cards for the Hanna Stamps Guest DT call on Splitcoast Stampers. I saw the call on a friends blog and after thinking about it a while decided to try out myself. I LOVE Riley's and Hanna's so much. I sadly only have 2 sets of Hanna's (patriotic and Christmas) and that is why you do not see her much around my blog :(. However, I have several Riley's and plan to continue to add to my collection over time.
My Riley and Sophie card is made with RAKed images as well. I do have Rileys, just not these in particular. I colored them with my Bic markers, added glossy accents, and gave Sophie a mani pedi with tulip glitter paint (she is on vacation after all!). I used some glittered hard felt for the ocean and added tulip snow paint for the foam in the waves. I chalked the background with blue SU chalk and a sponge, added a bright sunshine complete with cool shades ;) and the sentiment is by Clearly Wordsworth. I hope you enjoy my cards. Thanks for the chance to try out for a DT position.
My Hanna card is made with DCWV card stock as well as DCWV patterned card stock. I used my cuttlebug folder for the swirls in the ocean and then sanded it. The 'sand' paper is by Bazzil. Funny story goes along with this paper. Yesterday my mom got the kids for a sleepover. I came home, cleaned a bit and started this card. I wanted to make the sand look real, but did not want to use real sand or my cuttlebug. I got a screwdriver and took my card stock outside to the driveway and rubbed away. As soon as I pulled the door shut i realized it was locked. You know the reaction you have when you realize something as soon as it is happening and you try to stop it but it is too late. yea, that was me. I do not know many of my neighbors (shame on me) and am to shy to go over and ask to use their phone. So I sat. Tommy was supposed to be home in 30 min. I waited. Finally i got more and more worried about the kids, so I made myself walk over to a house of a friend (hoping she was home). She was checking her mail (yay!!!) and let me borrow her cell. My husband came home an hour and a half later than expected and I got back in. I would have had this card complete yesterday .. if all of this did not happen. I do, however like the way the sand turned out :). I colored Hanna with my copics and bic markers, added felt embellishments, fun felt to her towel, bling, and some prima flowers.
