I wasn't sure where I was going with this post today.
So many of my friends are going through so many different things.
Some happy, some painful, some healing.
Some I feel I haven't spoken to in forever and some that after several
years popped back in to say hello. Life gets weird sometimes,
but no matter what... where... or how long it has been,
God sends us friends to help remind us that He cares and He loves us
and He has someone out there, just for us, to be there to talk, share, listen
and be a friend through different times and stages of our lives.
God is so good!
I often feel like a failure as a friend. Life gets in the way and I don't stop in and
say HELLO near as often as I should. Then I feel guilty and totally disappear.
I know it's wrong, but it's what I do. :(
Have you ever crocheted and unraveled a row of stitches?
It goes pretty fast, doesn't it?
Easy. Too easy sometimes.
There it goes. Whatever you had made, gone in an instant.
One mistake and poof, unraveled.
But the good thing in that is, you get to start over.
Fresh and new. That's how God works with our lives too.
If we make a mistake, we can't erase it, but he can when we ask for forgiveness.
It all becomes new again. Clean. Fresh.
And we begin again.
When it comes to TRUE God sent friendships though *even marriages*
we have something even better. We don't need to start new. We have knots.
There are knots all throughout our 'project'. Happy knots, tear filled knots,
laughed till your stomach hurt knots, up all night knots, shared memories knots.
You can't unravel true friendship and love. So if there is something going on.
Someone you feel you've hurt or let down. IF someone has hurt you or let you down,
try to think about the knots. They are the perfect reminders of why you
were brought together and why God placed this person in your life.
What happens when the project is finished? Sometimes we do move on.
Some friends slowly slip out of our lives and we start new ones.
But that's ok too. If it is something God created and that God
is leading you on different paths, then think of it as His way of starting a new
project. Whether it be a coaster or an afghan, he has a work for you and will
bring people to your life to make it better. You just need to try to be the person
God is leading you to be, trust in Him, give it ALL to Him and follow in his perfect plan
for your life.
SOOOOOO That wasn't planned. Not at all. And was probably confusing and a mess to read.
I was thinking sitting here thinking of how much of a terrible
friend I have been and how life has gotten in the way and God lead me through all of that.
He is so good, isn't He?
