Word Art Wednesday Challenge #171

Mark 12:30

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

What a beautiful verse we have to work with this week
at Word Art Wednesday!
When it comes down to it, LOVE is what it is all about.
God loves us so much that he created us, gave us special talents, skills, looks ...
every single one of us uniquely, wonderfully, and fearfully made.
We are precious to Him. He loves us so much that He sent His son
to live on this earth and be an example for us and then to die on the cross
and suffer for our sins.
To love us THAT much is beyond anything I could ever imagine.
I  could never tell Him enough how much He means to me and how much I love Him.
With all that I am, because of who You are... I LOVE YOU LORD!

I HOPE TO SEE YOU PLAY ALONG WITH US AT WORD ART WEDNESDAY THIS WEEK!!!!

A Bit of GAB
************************************

Now for those of you wondering about how my little miss did at competition this weekend,
here ya go!

Many of you know we left a terrible studio last year.
They beat and broke my daughter down over the years and I stood by and watched.
I felt terrible after the fact... but realized that God was in control the whole time.
She had to be the one to want to leave. That way it was her choice, not something I was
making her do just to protect her. When it came down to the final straw...
the teacher belittling her and treating her SO BADLY and some of his favorites starting to do the same,
she, my strong - can handle pretty much anything, little girl broke down.
IT KILLED ME. It angered me. It broke my heart into a million pieces.
But, thankfully, God had prepared me. He started showing me bit by bit what was happening
so I stepped in and started looking at other studios. While we went to competitions, I
was studio shopping so to speak. I found one and decided to check it out.
I was COMPLETELY honest with this owner and told her how we felt and what we went through and
how we did NOT want that experience again. I set up some private classes for my daughter and
went from there. We were still at our other studio and taking classes. I wanted her to see what
it was like and to compare the feeling she had at the studios. Learn about the difference in teachers and kids and if they were there to  support or to hurt each other. Her eyes were opened and she was ready to make a move, but wanted to complete the year at the old studio so that she did not leave her teammates in a bind with the dances they were working on. Early April ... the showcase was at the end of May... was the turning point. Her teacher was so rude and ugly and hateful to her in class. Even the students said it was uncalled for and that Hannah didn't do anything... but it happened. She came out looking funny and I asked what was wrong. She burst out in tears and hyperventilating. She had NO IDEA what she had done wrong or what had happened for him to talk to and treat her the way he did. I was DONE!!!!! I walked out of the studio with my little girl and never looked back.

Our new studio is not just a place to dance. They are strict, they are GOOD, they are caring, they are focused on the kids 110%. We are SO BLESSED AND SO THANKFUL that God lead us there.
I  can't even begin to tell you the difference it has had on her dance technique, social skills,  and her confidence. It is almost a complete opposite of our old studio.

Now that you got the background... I will go and tell you that my little girl competed her FIRST EVER SOLOS at competition this weekend. She also danced in 2 group dances.

The group dances won 1st and 2nd overall for the teen super group part of the competition!!!!
They also had two of the highest scores in the competition.

Hannah's solos won
Room: 2
Music: Woman's World
Contestant Number: 212
Category: 12 Yrs Solo Advanced Jazz
Score: 113.3
This entry received a Platinum 1st Place, placing 1st in their category

Room: 2
Music: Zing Went the Strings of My Heart
Contestant Number: 209
Category: 12 Yrs Solo Advanced Musical Theater
Score: 113.3
This entry received a Platinum 1st Place, placing 1st in their category and 4th overall.

We are SOOOOO PROUD OF HER.
She was so worried because her old studio was going to be there as well.
They were. We avoided the teachers to the best of our ability.
She did speak to a few of the girls and was very kind and very Hannah.
I still wasn't happy with these girls and how they treated her, but was still very proud of
how my little girl handled running into them. She is such a good little girl!

Anyway ---

She did it!
She made it through her first competition at a new studio. She scored GREAT with her first solos.
She held her head high, but still was modest and didn't want a big 'to do' over what she won.
So funny. .. she was trying to hide her trophies and just be like 'no big deal' because she didn't want to look like she was bragging or something. I am also proud of how humble she was. Such a beautiful girl inside and out!!!

enough chattering about it... here are a few pics from the weekend.

Thank you for stopping by!

Have a very happy and blessed day!

Heather
