For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 / KJV

Heather's Coffee Break

I was inspired by this weeks challenge at Caardvarks to create something for myself for a change. Their challenge is to create something 3D. I LOVE my blog (because of you :) I have so much fun learning from and sharing with you all. I also love coffee :o), so I thought I would make something for my kitchen or desk that would reflect just that. My sister gave me this frame a LONG time ago and it has been in the closet waiting for me to transform / use it. I played around with thoughts until I came up with this idea. I was a little scared, mind you, but as I made each piece it just kindof fell together. I used 3 Cricut carts as well as my cricut design studio to make the coffee cup. I then created the background circle, stamped my hero arts mini stamps (coffee beans and the words coffee) around the entire base, and glued on a white circle to the background. i used American crafts double sided paper for this project. I cut the cup three times, layered and popped it out to make it look more realistic. I was still not happy, so I added glossy accents to the entire thing. I really like the way that changed the look of it. Crazy how something so little can make such a dramatic difference! I painted on some tulip espresso paint then added the 'cream' with a white pearl paint, and a little cinnamon colored glitter topped it off. I do hope you like my project and feel inspired to create something for yourself as well. Have a great weekend.
