For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 / KJV

It's a Purl Thing

I made this bookmark for the Hanna Stamps challenge over at SCS. The challenge was given by my friend Adela and was to make a project (not a card) using acetate if possible. I do not have nor have I really worked with acetate before, so I was a little nervous and had no idea what I was going to create. I was at the bookstore yesterday with the kids and stumbled upon this book in the clearance area. My sister loves to knit, so just by reading the title, I was sold! THEN my mind went DIRECTLY to knitting Spohie .. a bookmark... and I started as soon as I got in the door. Well, as soon as the kids settled and started playing independently. :) I did not have acetate, so I cut into a plastic gift box package I had saved. I ran it through my cuttlebug, colored Sophie with my prismacolor pencils, OMS and blender sticks, covered her with a strip or packing tape so she would stay 'safe' :) and attached her to the plastic with gluedots and eyelets. The back is also covered with matching CS just to make it more sturdy and pretty from both sides. I had so much fun with this. Thanks Adela for the challenge.
I created some cards last night for the 2S4Y challenge .. stayed up way too late! I finally got htem ready ~ and my camera would not turn on. I took out the battery, charged it, and waited another hour. Tried again ... nothing! I now have 2 pretty much pointless cards, a broken camera and ...??? SO, after asking my good friend Cass about her camera, I got some ideas. I could not find the exact camera she listed at my local stores, but I found the smaller version? A little cheaper (not much) but it is under $250 and I can handle putting that on the credit card because i know we will pay it off fast. My hubby found one at WAlmart that was over $500 and i was going to have to wait. :/. I can't wait! lol!!! What would I do?? So, i will see what he says when he gets home from church. Han was not feeling well, so we are just hanging out. Hope you have a blessed Sunday. Thanks for visiting!

**UPDATE** Hubby took me and got me a camera!!! YAY!!! it is charging :) WOOTY WOOT WOOT!

  1. My camera broke not too long ago and Iended up getting a Cannon Powershot for $80.00, it has been a great little camera so far. I love that bookmark, what a neat idea to run plastic through the cb. Cass does have an awesome camera, I just wasn't willing to pay that much for a camera at the time.
