Today my family and I went out before my husband went into work. We were hitting sonic for some hamburgers and then picking up my husbands guitar from a man who added 'something'? to it/ As we were driving into Myrtle Beach, we saw a man walking and carrying a cross. We showed the kids and they were curious, asking many questions. We were too far past him and nowhere to turn around, so we decided if he was close when we got finished picking up lunch we would offer him a drink or something. Just even to say Hi. We did see him, stop and talk to him. He said that God just told him to do it and he did. He had been walking for days but said it did not feel like it had been. He said he did not feel tired, it was not as hard as he thought it would be. He got mocked, pointed at, cursed, laughed at, and some would drive by with a thumbs up. My husband told him he was doing a wonderful thing and touching many people this way. He kindof cut him off and told him this was all God and for his glory. he was not doing anything. He talked with the kids, took a few drinks and was back on his way. People Tommy works with and others ask at times, how do you know it is God telling you to do these things? Some people even laughed at the story and said he was an idiot for thinking God told him to. Well, I have always wondered that as well. How do you know it is God? My answer is Who else? Who else is going to tell you to do something or give you an answer you have been seeking? Satan surely is not. He would do nothing to give God glory or praise. I have been learning more to listen to God. Two Sundays ago I was praying for Hannah among other things. ((and I am sharing this only for the purpose to prove my point, not to make me look good or crazy :) however you want to take it :) )) I had several women from the church laid hand on me praying, Hannah was near me praying and being prayed for. God had already done such a work in her life already, I have just been praying and praising him for the promise of healing he has already given me. Well, he told me to jump. Literally ... up and down jump. Did I really want to? no. Was I embarrassed? yes. He told me again. Did I do it? You betcha. That is how he told me I needed to praise him at that moment. To thank him and love him. I am so glad that there are people out there that are reaching others by listening to God even when others may think they are crazy or stupid. (as they were saying). God deserves our best praise and love. He planted a seed in peoples lives by doing this. The words Jesus written on the cross and the man with his head low so no one could see his face, just the cross and the devotion. He is there, all you have to do is listen and obey.
Have a blessed night. I love you.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose. . Romans 8:28
truth
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 / KJV
Thank you so much for sharing your story. You always have a way to make me think girl!! Enjoy the rest of your night.

ReplyDeleteThank you too Heather. I wish life would slow down so that I could here the Lord more often. He does here us and he sure does answer us. That man is not crazy. I would do the same if told to.
ReplyDeleteYour love for Christ is inspiring. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your story.
