Good morning!
Its FRIDAY!!! WOOT WOOT!!
I know you are all as excited as I am. I feel like I have been going and going and going... and will still be going all weekend :) but look forward to those little breaks and moments where I can just sit down and relax. Those are few and far between these days with school and dance... I know you all know what I am talking about. :) But at the same time I would not have it any other way :D
I created a fun card for you using my
I had a lot of fun making this card. I had some scrap papertrey inc cardstock that was just sitting on my table, and some walnut ink stain that I gave my mom for her bday for her crafting goodness, but it did not work on her projects, so I thought hmm... before I take it back, let me see what this stuff does. I admit that at first I was not loving it and it did not do what I THOUGHT it would, but I need a slightly slicker paper for that maybe? It did create this deep leathery looking band. I spritzed it with the terracotta and java inks then a splash of shimmerz spritz. While it was wet I smooshed the heck out of it! Crumple crumple wiggle and smash!!! Then I took some ink (my mom found for me a few bdays ago that is called Java and smells like coffee! love!!!) to distress the crumpled edges.
The TO GO Vita Coffee holder was super simple. It is a 4 x 6 piece of cardstock scored at 1/2 inch, 2 inches, and 3 1/2 inches. I then took an oval nestie to create the window, ran it through the cuttlebug with a cute embossing folder, used the yummy java ink to distress and then used a strong glue to add it to the card base!
Very fun and really honestly easy card to create! :)

and one more thing...
The MOST IMPORTANT part of this post..
This song has touched my heart in such a big way... and God laid it on my heart to share it with you!
There have been many days I have felt like I do not deserve Gods love. I feel like I have not spent as much time with him as I should. I have not spent as much time praying and getting to know him like I should. I NEED to make time and I NEED him more than anything.. but satan slips in his two cents and he says .. why? Why in the world would God love you? What have you done for him? What is so important about you that would make him say ... yes. I am proud of you. That is my child? And I hang my head and think. Nothing. I have done nothing GREAT. I am not who I want to be or who my heart tells me I can be. I know I can be better... but that sneaky little voice still slides in and tells me I dont have time. I had a bad day and am not worthy of being in Gods presence.
Well, guess what? God is not that kind of God.
HE LOVES ME! For ME! and he loves YOU for YOU!!!
He made us all and has a special reason and purpose for each of us. If for now that means that I am to raise my children, teach them, drive them around... that is my job! Nothing is too big or too small in Gods eyes as long as we are doing it all for his glory! On the days we don't feel worthy. Pray harder. On the days we cant hear him or don't feel like smiling. Sing his praises louder. God is with us and he loves us more than we could EVER EVER EVER imagine. HE has a SPECIAL plan and purpose for each of us.
PLEASE watch this video.
God placed it on my heart for ME and told me to share it with YOU

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute and clever creation! Also just love those greens and browns together. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteHi Heather,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post, I was telling my shrink yesterday similar things.
Love your coffee card! Very creative!
Peace,
Kristy
Oh, Heather, I love, love, love this song. By God's grace this song always comes on the radio when I am feeling unworthy. You are right though, it is really really hard some days to feel Him near us, and those are the hardest days to pray. Thank you for this inspirational reminder that He loves us no matter what, and I believe He is probably weeping on those days with us!
ReplyDeleteOn to your card.....
Easy? It looks hard! I love the idea though, and thanks for the measurements! I will have to try one!
Have a Blessed day!
Hugs,
Stacy
Love the card Heather. Great idea to use the Starbucks coffee!
ReplyDeleteI see cards for teabags all the time and still didn't think to use the coffee packs!
Your image is pretty cool too!
Have a great weekend.
:) Gale
OK, so, this card is in the mail on its way to my house, right?
ReplyDeleteI love how you described your process! And you laughed at me when I wrote about "spit ball flowers"... although "crumple, wiggle and smash" does sound like more fun!! (-:
Beautifully written post, Heather!
You truly bring out the best in everyone whose path is lucky enough to cross yours!!
two words.... LOVE IT.
ReplyDeletelove love love this card. the colors are amazing- i love that image, and the little coffee gifty on it is awe-some!! i love all the details right down to the coffee scented ink. mmm :) I have a few different walnut inks, but usually only use the brown. it's fun to run around (do you have the dabber bottle?) a coffee mug and then "stamp it" onto your card- a coffee cup stain on your paper. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, this is great. I love the little treat attached.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card and gift - all wrapped up in one! You've done a super job with it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your message and posting the video too. I've not heard the song before - or even heard of the artist. I think when God put it in your heart to post, he must have known I'd be by to hear it. It really touched me deeply... and the verse here in your comment box also contains a promise of which I needed to be reminded. Thank you so much.
I'm so glad you joined us at My Craft Spot this week!

Always know when you feel the farthest, hes the closest. We are lucky to have a God who loves us even when we dont show him we even know he exist. Sometimes he stands back to let us find him too.
