Good Morning ladies!!! I am so excited about today's post. The sketch for ICS this week is adorable!!! I had a blast making this card. I originally thought it would be a beautiful Christmas card, and I expect to see many of those. I could see the squares spelling out Joy and having a wonderful scene in the oval. I still may make a card like that:). I am also the Guest Designer for Papertake weekly the next few weeks, so I decided to make a card with the same image for both. The challenge on papertake weekly is to make a spooky or Halloween card. I could not find one I really wanted to use so I drew one myself. It reminds me of my little girl and boy. She is always scaring him, but in turn scaring herself. He is always behind her, holding on to her shirt as they sneak to his room with a flash light to scare away the monsters:).
Now, this is where the fun comes in!!! I am going to choose 2 commenters next Monday using random.org and those 2 people will win this image (spooky) that is being released today!!!
The first card is for ICS. Dawn designs the absolute best sketches! I really had fun playing with it. I chose to try something different with my digi this week. I printed it twice, cut out the kids, grass and tree all in one piece. I then cut out the moon and masked the entire image. From there I created the sky with purple and blue inks by ink it up. I then used polysparkle embossing powder and embossed the sky. It really gave it a nice effect and it sortof looks like little sparkly stars when you turn it in the light. I colored the rest of the image with my prismacolor markers.
For my Papertake Weekly card I used the same spooky image. I chalked the sky this time but still used the prismacolor markers to color in the rest of the image. I had gotten the bat cut outs from a friend last year. I thought they were cute and had to add them to the card when I found them in my stash!
