Good morning!!! Today, many of us are participating in the Operation Write Home Veteran's Day Blog Hop. If you arrived from
Heather's blog, then you are in the right place. I
f you arrived here first, you will want to hop on over to the beginning of this heartfelt hop to honor our nation's heroes at the
OWHS Homefront Blog.
I have a few cards to share with you today. First I created 2 Any hero cards. I was not sure what an any Hero card was exactly so I asked my friend Carolyn what I needed to create for it. She told me that an Any Hero card are cards meant for soldiers who are about to go out on a mission...soldiers who receive very little mail from home...and for soldiers who need a boost. I hope that these cards are able to do just that. I had my children draw some pictures and little letters to add to the cards. They were not prompted and I was actually surprised by what my daughter designed. She drew snowmen because that is my last images I have made, so she was stuck on that theme. Tommy Ray drew pumpkins? He said "it is special and I wanted to remind them of Fall and i love them and Jesus loves them too". Hannah said she would tell the service men and women "Jesus loves you and he will guide you through all of your trouble. He will protect you. And thank you for fighting for our country for us. We will pray for you. " I could not have said it better. I will have them write this out and add to their letters to add to the Any Hero cards. I have a feeling I will be creating a lot more of these cards to be sending to our service men and women. It is a small token of my appreciation and love I have for them. **my scanner is not working so i will try to add the kids pictures to this post later. Sorry**

The next cards I have to share with you are Valentine's Day cards. These cards are for our Heros to be able to have a card to send home to one of their loved ones. I am not much of a sucker for Valentine's Day ~ not sure why ~ but after this my views of it may have changed.
If you would like to send some Valentines to our troops, and help them send some love to their loved ones...the deadline for sending them to OWH is January 8th, 2010.

I am offering everyone this image of God Bless Ewe. It is one I created specifically for the hop. It will not be for sale in my shop and there is no time limit to pick it up. I do hope you can use it and make it for someone just to tell them thank you.
I may seem a little lost for words. It is because I have heard stories from my uncles, grandfathers and friends but I have not experienced anything like this in my personal life. I can not imagine the time put into training, working, preparing. The time away from their families, the sacrifices made by each and every one including the family left behind. I am overwhelmed with emotions and an forever greatful.
I also wanted you to know that all those who leave a comment on this post will be given three chances to win some digis of their choice. One grand prize winner will receive two free digis of his/her choice...one image from the

I bet their loving messages will be cherished forever by all those who receive them!!! Had to tell you...I kept smiling all through the night thinking of the song that was sung to me over the phone!! Hope you are enjoying your weekend!!!

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed visiting your blog and seeing your cards.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of you to be a part this blog hop for our soldiers, Heather. Your cards are exceptionally wonderful and will bring joy to each one receiving it. I never thought about Valentine's Day for them so I will do that much. I will use your drawing to send a few to soldiers who do not get mail because I'd said I would and your drawing will provide a nice patriotic feel. God bless you for doing this. How sweet your children are, Heather! My first husband was military and we had the Gulf War as the worst for us but he was on a ship so we have not experienced loss of that kind, thank God. My dad was in the Vietnam war...not a good experience either and I never really understood it until later. So my prayers are continuous for the men and women who do this. All three of my sons haven't been called but registered....*sigh* Hope you're having a fab weekend!
