I hope you are all haveing a beautiful Friday and have a funtastic weekend planned. I am not sure what we will do, but have a feeling we will be heading to Ripleys Believe it or Not Saturday evening. My kids have been wanting to go so badly. Should be fun ... a little cheesey ... but I can't wait to see the kids reactions to some of the 'odd' things.
I have a few cards to share with you today. My mom has been helping me with a garden the past few years. She helped me get started and reminded me of the little things ( I really listened this year and will not (I hope) forget.) It is growing like crazy and everything is huge! My tomato plants are almost as tall as Hannah and my zucchini and squash are putting out so many veggies ... I have had to pass them around. This is the first year they have done so well. My tomato plants are big with not so many friuts, but the cucumbers are going to be plentiful! I LOVE fresh cucumbers! yummy!
I took a picture of some of our first 'harvest' to share with you a week or so back.
As a thank you, I made this card for my mom. I used the sketch at 2S4Y beileve it or not. It has the 3 main parts:Watering can, shovel and the 'digger thing'. OK, so I am not up on the technical things, but I know what they are for:) HAHAHA!!! I broke out my Walk in my Garden cricut cart and a small cuttlebug folder.... a lot of thinking and ended up having so much fun creating this card. I am still shocked I made it through a card (or 2) without stamping or using a digi! WOW!!! :D
I found this great garden quote on a website ... and thought it was perfect for my mom. Hope she likes it.
This next card is also for 2S4Y and follows the sketch pretty much exactly. I won these Spellbinder Fruit dies months ago at PCP and FINALLY got up the nerve to try them out. I used a fiscars border punch, clear cardstock by papertrey ink, pink dot paper by papertrey inc, colorbox chalk green ink and ... thats it. :D It was a HARD card to photograph, so I hope you can SEE it :) lol!
When I was little my mom and dad taught my sister and I a song "Dare to be Different" (southern Gospel) A few lyrics: "I'll dare to be different in a world of compromise and I'll stand for you Jesus though I might be criticized ... for many years ridiculed mocked and crucified ... I'll dare to be different set apart and sanctified." I am PRETTY sure that is how it went. I was about 8 or 9 when I was learning this one and never got the nerve to sing it in church. I think about that all the time. Well, when creating this card, that is all I thought about. I was going to use a sentiment of 'dare to be different' but found a quote online, shortened and changed it up a bit and love it! Hope you like it too. :D
Because I am sharing it with you :)
Snag it if you want. :)
Great work! Your veges look fantastic!

ReplyDeleteThis is amazing!! I love the bright gorgeous colors you used! Thank you very much for the little saying--I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhoops! I forgot the cute garden was on the same post! Love this creation too--you have been a busy girl! Our garden has barely begun to grow yet! You are lucky--cucumbers and tomatoes are my favorite garden items!
ReplyDeleteHeather your cards are fabulous! I especially like the apple card. What a great sentiment too. I'm sure your mom will love the garden card with yet another perfect sentiment. Beautifully done dear friend!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are lovely! The veggies look wonderful. You are the only other person blogging about their vegetables. Too bad we don't live close. My tomatoes are going crazy with fruit as are my beans and bel peppers. Alas I don't have many squash yet! Have a wonderful summer with your garden!
