truth

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 / KJV

More than a friend...

"Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away." ~Dinah Craik

I know that we have friends and acquaintances and even some family members that know alot about us and that we love dearly, but there are those that are THAT much more. My mom, my sister, my very best friends that are so close to me that I know that I could do NOTHING to make them sit and critique everything I say, will not judge me, will listen, will share, will correct me out of love and will help lead me and direct me with gentleness and kindness. Who will make my heart happy and smile on days that I did not think was possible. Will listen to moans and groans and complaints ... then, when I even need it, will not tell me to get over myself and stop with my pitty party, but lend caring and honest advice about the situation, or just let me vent. They are there for the happy times as well as the icky times. They are God's gift to my life and I love them So very much.
Today I am praying and thanking God for these special people who help me grow and remind me that I am more than I think I am and that God has a great work for me. Thank you for being that person in my life and for all that you do every day to remind me. I hope that I am able to do the same for you and I hope you know that I do love and appreciate you more than words could EVER express.

Today's card was created using the Eat Sleep Stamp sketch this week. I really liked the three panels, but I measured them wrong in my head :) so the little silver panels came later. I am happy for this OOPS though, because I think it looks much better with them there than not. I also stepped out of my pinks and summery colors for this card. I really like how the orange pops against the other colors. That was also a last minute decision. Something about them just makes me happy :) I hope it does you as well.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I am trying to think of anything I am missing ~ any news to share, but I am drawing a blank :)
I will be back soon with another card and then if I remember, I will share :D
