Summer

Cordelia in the Sand Rubber Stamp + Fairy Dust Inspirations Paint

Last Days of Summer

by Ellen Ni Bheachain

Whatever the way the summer days end,
In the type of summer is how it has been,
Whether a good one or bad one,
The last days of summer,
Can be sad or happy endings,
As each season ends,
With another one beginning,

The summer could have been,
Miserable yet,
Sun scorching us everyday,
And sunlight shining on all our faces,
It is how it is,
Out there where all is seen,
In,
Summer days of fun,
Summer days of love,
Summer days of seeing,
Summer days of been,
Out and about where summer is,

And when summer came and went?
With a mundane feeling that it left?
Was the last days of summer,
And the begining of another,
Autumn as we know it,
Fall in other places,
Where the ending of one season shows,
By the decaying of it,
When Autumn Fall shows,

Where we will wrap up and snuggle,
With warm cuppas drinks,
With a book,
Or,
Catch up on watching films,
Yet,
Still,
Musing over the summer days,
Of sunshine memories,

Now,
Warm hats and gloves,
With rustle leaves,
That rustle beneath,
Our feet as we walk,
Through the park,
And see,
The summer leaves turn,
To autumn shades,
Taking in,
The last days of summer,

Reflecting,
And remember,
The falls of Autumn's,
Is the signs of summer,
That has ended,
And minglings with,
All that falls,
From the summer ending,
To autumn beginnings,
Is the,
Decaying,
Of summer,
To regrow itself,
For next season's of summer,
When it begins again,

Yet,
In between,
There's,
Autumn,
Winter,
Spring,
Till,
Again,
Last days of summer,
And all in bloom again.

Cordelia in the Sand Rubber Stamp + Fairy Dust Inspirations Paint
I know that poem was sortof long. I skimmed through several, but this one stuck with me :)
I hope you enjoyed reading over it. I really thought it fit this card. The colors, while still beach themed, remind me of the first of autumn with all of the golden hues.

I stamped my mermaid on PTI cardstock, colored her with prismacolor markers, and painted over her with Fairy Dust Inspirations paint. While the paint was still wet, I poured extra fine glitter by Martha Stewart over the entire image to give it a brilliant shimmer. Almost as if the sea spray is all around her glimmering in the evening sun.

this card was created for the following challenges
Eat Sleep Stamp Sketch
Creative Inspirations Paint: Lots of layers
Cupcake Inspiratons: colors
Fashionable Stamping Challenge: Ribbon or lace
Pile it on: Girls just want to have fun

Hot Cuppa Joe

This is a SUPER fast post seeing as how I am posting while the kids are doing their schoolwork, or trying to not do it since I am not in the room. Day 3 and they are already pushing ALL of my buttons! See... I already had to take a break from writing THIS MUCH and stop them from fighting. Sheesh!!!

Anyway ~ everything has stated in full swing and I have the headaches to prove it ;) lol!!!

Hot Cuppa Joe FBD Digital Stamp

Monday kicked off our Dance school year as well... and it was a great one!
Hannah loves her classes so far. Her teachers are the same wonderful teachers as last year and her classes have near doubled in size. There was so much chaos at CFPAA Monday all you could do was freak out and run screaming or bask in the wonderful chaos before you. The teachers and workers all did their jobs with style and grace and control and smiles despite all of the things they were dealing with.

I made this card for "Mr. Joey". There is Not a single person at CFPAA who does not love Joey. He is a super nice guy always willing to help and encourage and joke around. I was coloring this image in last night and thinking "hot cuppa Joe" (the digis name) ... hot cuppa.... wait! I will make this for our Hot Cuppa Joe! HAHAHAH!!! I know this card may seem somewhat inappropriate for a 'guy' but I think Joey will like it and not take offense to it (or feel like I am hitting on him, lol!)  He could use a smile after this week. I am going to get some of the other moms to sign it as well.

Hope you all have a super wonderful Wednesday. I am off to get a shower, some IB and coffee :)
Many hugs and smiles!!!

CHOCOLATE!!!

I mean, come on!!! Who doesn't like chocolate? (well, I confess, I know a few people, but not many!!! :)

This card is for all of you chocolate romantics out there :D hehehe
  Shy Girl digital stamp

Our new challenge at Freshly Brewed Challenges is to use White on White plus One more color. I chose white and  deep brown. I like the way they contrast. I would usually go with a softer pastel color, but really like how this turned out. I simply embossed the bg using a 5x7cuttlebug folder then punched out a few hearts, attached them to the twine and voila! Really simple fun card.

I hope you will be able to join us this week.
We have lots of fun things to share with you including blog hop badges and our month long prize challenge.

this card was created using the following challenges:
Challenge Up Your Life - 2W, 1E -  #50 No patterned paper
Crazy 4 Challenges - #C4C100 Monochromatic
Crafty Catz - 1E - embossing

Oh BOY!!!

It feels like FOREVER has passed since I have posted!!! I guess our new stamp releases and things have me doing more behind the scenes and left little time to create .... but that is fine!!! I am super excited about the new stamp release :D woohoo!!! To read more check out our FB Challenges blog and snag our badges that are in the sidebar of my blog and the shop blog .

I have some FUN news to share with you. The  Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge blog is celebrating their reaching 1000+ followers. They have a wonderful challenge with lots of sponsors (FBD included).
Read more about their challenge / celebration HERE.

How did I choose to celebrate you ask? The best way!!! I will keep my story short and to the point. My sister knows a lady who was unable to have children. My sister (and others I am sure) felt lead to pray for her... and guess what!!! She is being blessed with triplet boys!!! Isn't that awesome?!?! My sister knitted the boys an awesome set. I can't explain it ... but it is like a baby sock (hehehe) that they fit inside of and a little hat to match. my husband described it to look like  a glowworm... but they are just the CUTEST things ever!!! I wanted to make a card for her to sort of go with her gift. I used my digital stamp 'look who hatched' and covered the cracked egg edge with bakers twine.

The colors match closely to the handknit gift she will be receiving.
I used some scrap handmade paper (the light green dot) that  I have had for YEARS!, Papertrey Inc white cardstock and kraft cardstock AND blue dot paper from their 2008 bitty dot basics set. The punch is a scalloped lace circle nestablities die and the baby feet and sentiment are by clearly wordsworth.

Thank you for stopping by today!

I hope you have a very beautiful and blessed day!
Heather

Challenges include:
The Sweetest Thing - Sketch*
Shabby Tea Room - Polka Dots (Photo Inspirations*)
Fun with Shapes & More  must include die cut/punch - twine

One Hot Cuppa Joe

Good Morning!

I hope everyone is having a super wonderful lovely weekend so far. (I know it just started, but I hope yours started off  right :)!) I know at Fresh Brewed Designs, we are!! I have had my morning java and am ready to take on  the day! My husband is off work and we are going to spend time together and with the kids.
On the other hand, Our lovely latte lady rubber stamp has been so very lonely. She keeps telling me she loves all the places she has been and has loved visiting all of the coffee shops, but it gets tiring  going by herself all the time. I introduced her to who we lovingly call Hot Cuppa Joe and she couldn't be happier! :D hehehe

Well, maybe I have had TOO much coffee today .... but I hope you are smiling and putting up with me and my craziness. All of this leads up to a NEW DIGITAL STAMP RELEASE!!! I had some free time on my  hands this week sitting with a not so well little man, so I took advantage of my being lazy and created this to share with all of you Fresh Brewed Designs fans :)

Here he is.....
drumroll please.....
Welcome to the family:

He is standing with our lovely latte lady, I'll Take Mine to Go rubber stamp.
All of the papers are from my scrap pile (GO ME!!!) I used my cricut Accent Essentials cartridge to cut out the shapes behind them. I used the fantastic sketch at Papertake Weekly for this card. I also did something I did not want to do but am glad I did :D Have you ever done something JUST for a challenge? Stamp Man is asking for stitching. I poked all the holes and hand stitched up the sides. Normally it would be calming and a stress relief for me, but I was so busy ...  thank you Stamp Man for getting me to sit down and take a break :D. The colors I chose for this card were inspired by the challenge at Just Add Ink and the bling comes from the Totally Papercrafts challenge.

Look at all of those yummy layers and the shimmer :) Yes I had too much fun making this card :D I think this may be the thickest card I have made.
At least in the top 5~ :)

Thank you for stopping by today! There are LOTS more fun things happening at FBD! you have to stop by the challenge blog to find them all out. TOooo many things to post here! :) Like challenges, releases, freebies, guest designer posts, BLOG CANDY!!! and we are announcing our new rubber stamp release AND birthday blog candy soon!!! Kiss Me!

because I'm Crazy for you....
Making this card totally got the Madonna Crazy For You song stuck in my head! Not sure how seeing as I was never really a fan. We were only allowed to listen to christian music. We did listen to other things mind you... but usually mild country (unless I was in a 'mood', lol!!!) ANYWAY!!!  I hope that you are ok with this card. I made another one that was a little more risque for my hubbys and my anniversary this past May. I had it on my desk, forgot about it... and my DD came in, picked it up and said "WHAT IS THIS?" ... so it then became a Frisbee .. one I lost until recently and have put safely away :) HAHAH!!! That card MIGHT be made next year, but this is the one you get for now...

this card was inspired (and in my opinion perfect for) the cupcake inspirations challenge this week!!! Don't you agree?!?! I saw these cupcake cuties and immediatly ran for this We R Memory Keepers Girls night Out Ooh la la paper.

I masked off the latte mug and added the making memories Je T'adore key brad in her hand. I also drew the little panties to match the paper, stamped and cut out her dress {nightie} on blue vellum and added the little touch of bling. She is placed over some My Minds Eye dot paper cut out with the scalloped lace circle nestabilities die cut. The sentiment is by stampabilities (with the changito sets), the trim is from Paper Maniac, and the hearts inside the trim are filled with diamond stickles. I had ALOT of fun making this sassy card. I hope you like it too. :)

(minus the pumpkins :D)
by Fresh Brewed Designs
This week at Freshly Brewed Challenges we are looking for all of those SHAPED cards. This is always a huge challenge for me! I am so not good at making anything BUT an A2 or 5.5 x 5.5 card.

I remembered these lovely romantic papers (and tags and heart shaped cutout) that my friend Tracey sent to me not too long ago as well as was inspired by a card a friend Vanessa created for her August Guest Designer position (yes, you have to wait until then to see it... but it is totally worth the wait!!!) She stamped and cut the girl off of the background to the Spicy Pumpkin Latte rubber stamp. I loved the way it looked and wanted to give it a go myself. I think this card turned out soft and romantic and sweet... and would probably have never happened if not for Vanessa's inspiring creation.

See these roses. I made them all by myself :) I am so proud!! :) lol!!! I really enjoyed making these. So much in fact that I tried (and failed) at three other attempts or styles. I will stick to my original plan with these for now :) Perhaps I will look up some tutorials on paper or ribbon flowers when I get the chance :D who knows!

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have a day filled with lots of Fresh Brewed Inspiration! HUGS, Smiles and God Bless!!!

Private Island Getaway

For the NEW digi post featuring Gardening Granny go HERE

Sending a happy Hi to everyone visiting today!
I am soooooooooo bored! It is too hot to do anything. I have curtains pulled to block out the heat. My daughter and I have been playing with polly pockets (and drinking coffee and eating cookies :D) while Daddy and little man have been playing video games. While all that is good... I feel like the day has been wasted.
we are off to see another free christian concert at the boardwalk tonight. Sidewalk Profits will be there tonight :). We really love their songs.

Now that I had bored you to death, lol!!! ;)
I will share my card with you.

and

This one was SO much fun to make. I used my favorite diecuts again :D
The MFT die-namics cloud  and the waves. I actually used the waves as a stencil this go round, so it was different :D that is good right? I stamped my Sunbathing Beach Babe Fresh Brewed Designs rubber stamp down first, then I stamped her another time, cut her and masked her off so I could stamp the palm tree 'behind' her. I drew in the sand and, voila, a private little island getaway :D

This image was so large, I did not use any detailed patterned paper because it would have been covered up anyway. I did use some leftover Martha Stewart dot paper to create the little tabs at the top and bottom of the framed image and some pink dot paper from k*i memories Juicy Summer. The sentiment comes from a clear stamp set by Dear Lizzy - American Craft. I stamped my FBD stamps with momento ink, colored them with Prismacolor markers and made them shimmer with Fairy Dust inspirations paint. There is even shimmer in the palm tree :)

(PS, they are having a Design team call right now! I LOVE PCS and know that you all do too, so why not try out for their team. If I had time, I know I would!! :)
They are so talented there... I know wouldn't make it ;) lol!!! Way out of my league IMHO!!!

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed your visit and that this card makes you imagine you are on your own private beach somewhere :D

HUGS and SMILES and Happy Summer Days!

Heather

Challenges for this card include:

Welcome: Gardening Granny

Welcome to the Fresh Brewed Digi Family: Gardening Granny

I don't know about you, but there is just something special to me about a Granny (or my granny) :D This post is going to be dedicated to my Granny who was sick and in the hospital for a few days. The image was made prior to her getting sick, but when I saw it I knew I would be able to make some fun cards for her.

No one can garden, cook, play, laugh, tell stories or do much of anything like a granny can. As I was telling someone this morning in blog world (Sheryl actually in reference to someone commenting on how hard Granny worked in her garden) .............Veggies just seem to jump into her basket :) hahaha!!! Really ~ I could go in my garden every day and do everything possible, but Granny ... ~ I imagine it to be one of those Snow White or Cinderella moments where she walks through the garden singing and the birds and animals collect the produce for her! HAHAHA!!!

When Granny was leaving the hospital, she said all she wanted was a cold watermelon. I know that her basket is full of veggies, but we also grow watermelons (or try) so it still works :D

This card was so much fun to make. I call it 'Granny Knows her Stuff '.  Listen to her, you will be glad you did ;) hahaha!!! I stamped the little bees randomly over the green paper and doodled hearts and lines and eyes on the bees.

To see MORE cards showcasing Gardening Granny and to hear about our current challenges and sales, stop by the challenge blog! :)

Strawberries are Sweet!

Good morning!
Yesterday my little girl took over my computer, ALL DAY!!! I literally think I went through withdrawals lol!!! ((No, all was not lost... I did survive)) While she was playing and creating her blog like mom *wink* and so on, I created this sweet little card to share with you all.

This was made using the Fresh Brewed Designs Cutie Pie Butterfly rubber stamp, ki memories Juicy Summer paper, MFT DieNamics crochet die, felt trim, SU sentiment, prismacolor markers, inspirations paint: fairy dust, PTI cardstock, 5x7 cuttlebug dots embossing folder, and the strawberry is from the Spellbinders fruit diecut set.

I really had fun making this card. I painted the oval with the fairy dust paint, it dries in a flash so with in minutes I was running this through the embossing plate. I actually like her green hair. She looks like a little strawberry fairy :) don't you agree?!? Hannah saw it from a distance and thought it was grey. She gave me one of those "oh... that's. ... cute?..." HAHAHA!!! THEN she came closer and saw it was a light muted green. Imagine her delight! HA!

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday.
Sending hugs and smiles!!!

Wet and Wild

No we are not talking about the water park or the nail polish (the cheap $.99 kind we used as kids) anyway ~ We are celebrating the 'wild side' at Freshly Brewed Challenges. We are challenging you to create something using anything WILD! Animals, animal print, bg paper, you name it! We want to see it. A little or a lot, just show us your wild side (OH GOODNESS!!! It just hit me some of the WILD cards we will be seeing with some of those scandalous images out there lol. Guess I need to practice peeking through my fingers :D)

Digital Image: Baby Ellie
The card I have to share with you today is featuring the sweet little Baby Ellie. I think she is pretty wild enough for me today! :D She is enjoying her ice cream watching the beautiful pink clouds pass by over the choppy waves. I have overused these diecuts lately, no doubt! But I LOVE them :) and Summer is almost over so I have months to wait to use the waves again, unless I find something really cool to do with them :).
Beautiful shimmer created by:
(available at the Fresh Brewed Shop)
(LOVE the fairy dust! It paints over any color and remains clear
it just adds a beautiful shimmer... and it dries in a flash!!!)
Let me share a little story with you :)
I will keep it short, I know I heard a few groans :D
When I was around 11 years old (yes, I am probably a little off) my parents moved us to 'the beach' from 'the mountains'. They were unsure if this was the right thing to do and had been praying about it. My mom thought of the most uncommon thing to see at that time and said "OK, if we see a pink elephant on the way, I will take that as a sign" (or something like that). Well, would you guess that we saw several pink elephants on the way.... how funny is that! I remember my sister and brother and I seeing them and laughing and pointing them out.

I do hope you are having a lovely week and that you will get to play along with us this week at Freshly Brewed Challenges
Be sure to check out our sale.

Rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby!

Good Morning~!
Do you like the title of this post? Don't get it? Let me fill you in :)
Remember back in the day when those singing fish hanging on walls were popluar with us people of the south? My Granny gave one to my son not so long ago. I hid it in his closet, and yes, he found it yesterday. That song will be stuck in my head for a very long time :D hahahahaha!!!

I have something fun and new to share with you today.
This card is featuring one of Fresh Brewed Designs newest digital stamps.
Huckleberry Pie goes Fishing. Huck is one of Angel Cakes newest and best friends. Notice he took his halo off and has it on the back of the boat for safe keeping.
Funny how coincidental that is right now. I was searching fishing quotes to leave you something cute and sweet to think about. All I found was goofy quotes about men and fishing and being liars and so on.
this was actually the best one I found .. and even it is terrible...
Granted I did not look very long :D hahaha!!!

Good things come to those who bait.  ~Author Unknown
 and this one
Men and fish are alike.  They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.  ~Author Unknown

hahaha ~ that was just mean of me ;)

ANYWAY~ I created this card as a reminder of our Triple Play challenge this week at FBChallenges. The challenge ends tonight so hurry up and join in! My threes for this card are three diecuts: Scalloped lace circle Nestabilites and My Favorite Things Die-Namics wave diecut border cut four times and layered over the card. The background paper is scrap paper that I ran through the cuttlebug using the swiss dots folder. I colored this up with prismacolor markers and stamped the sentiment with a clear stamp by Rubber Soul.

Thank you for stopping by today. We have lots of updates including one about new FBD rubber at the challenge blog. Be sure to stop by and check it all out!  You don't want to miss out on any of this Fresh Brewed Fun!!!

Have a wonderful day!
