For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:

End of Summer

I can not believe that August is almost over!
Where does time go? WOW!

At Freshly Brewed Challenges we are trying to keep summer here a little bit longer with a new challenge.
The challenge this week is themed : End of Summer

I have two projects to share with you. I will start with the one I like then move on to the one I Dont like :D

First up is Mermaid Play

I used the following stamps for this card:
Mermaid Play Digi and Smile rubber sentiment

This card really just came together this morning. I had the image colored for a while,
but after my disaster of a project that I created for this challenge, I knew I had to create something else.
I pulled her out this morning, looked for a sketch, found one at Crazy 4 Challenges and voila! here she is!

Don't you love that sparkly ocean? I have had that glittery paper in my scrap box for about 6 years and never used it. I was happy to pull it out and cut it out with my MFT die today :)

Next up is the disaster.

I handdrew the bg, then stamped a few extra stamps on it.

{{ Beach Accessories Rubber Stamp,  Palm Tree Rubber Stamp, Cordelia in Sand Rubber Stamp}}

I had already had the mermaid stamped, cut and colored in a box just waiting to be used. I should have placed her down before I colored the sea around her. Big oops there. I colored everything but the mermaid and the sky with sharpie markers. The paper on this frame soaked the ink up FAST so I did not keep going over it to try to make it look smooth. It would have just used too much ink. I thought by adding glossy accents over the ENTIRE frame and then sprinkling a light dusting of fine glitter it would make it better. It did, but I still hate it (GRIN).

The poem was found here: and printed off of a word document.
I created the frame with a few layers going inside and layered using pop dots. I first put on the clear acrylic cardstock, then the blue framed poem. This project has potential, and could have been a lot prettier, but I goofed it up too many times :D There was no hope!

Thank you for stopping by.
I hope you will check out our new challenge and be sure to stop by startring Monday for more fun!
Monday we have our Special Brew of the Month, Wednesday will be a new DIGI release and a new month long prize challenge and our rubber release hop is just around the corner! Lots of fun things to get excited about and to look forward to here at Fresh Brewed Designs!!!
