For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 / KJV

Fairies and Buttons

My kids have been watching the cartoon AND movies of
Peter Pan lately.  We recently turned off our cable.
I had forgotten how many DVDs we actually had!

Last night we watched  the 2003 version of Peter Pan. I think it is sweet.
Sort of an innocent little love story. You can't help but fall
in love with Peter Pan and feel sad for him at the same time.
The part where the kids are bringing Tink back to life by
saying "I do believe in fairies" is one of the most memorable parts,
but one of my favorite parts is the end where the Lost Boys come to live
with the family. The one boy is standing there and says he is too late, couldn't find
the house and now everyone has a mother. The aunt that is standing there
(after being hit with fairy dust) looks at him and says "Is your name ___?" He replies
that it is. Then she continues to say "Then I am  your mother!" He says "How do you know?"
She stands firmly and says " I feel it in my bones."
It makes me cry EVERY TIME! and my kids think I am weird... :D

Ok, enough chit chatting and on to my card...

I found a few challenges I wanted to play along in and got to work.
(I usually work the opposite way
.. make it then search out challenges it fits in to ... )

Here are the challenges I used as inspiration:

Simon Says Stamp -  Sparkle

I created this fairy by altering my rubber stamp.
I cut her out, hand cut and painted  the vellum wings, attached them to the
image and voila! A sweet little cupcake fairy!

There are three layers of vellum to her wings.
I painted the outer wings with creative inspirations paint: fairy dust
and curled them with the end of a paint brush after they had dried.
I used foam dots to pop it up and make it stand out more.

Here is a photo of the shimmer I added
with the CI paint and Crystal Stickles

Thank you for stopping by today.
I do hope you have a  lovely weekend.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
