Freshly Brewed Challenges: School Days

Our NEW Challenge at Freshly Brewed Challenges is

SCHOOL DAYS!!!

*YAY*

Do you hear the excitement in my voice?

No? Me neither.

HA!!!

I DO love homeschooling my children.

I DO believe in and know the importance of a GOOD education.

I try not to teach and do the best by my children.

HOWEVER, I am just not feeling it yet.

I need one more week of summer.

There, I said it. But if I had one more week of summer I would

probably want another :D hehehe!!!

(you must think terrible of me right now... but that is ok. I can live with that.)

ALL that being said, here is my SCHOOL DAYS card for

my Freshly Brewed Challenge :)

Digital Stamp: Best Teacher

materials:

Crayola crayon paper, twine, printed sentiment, spellbinder diecut

crate paper school spirit collection 6x6 paper pad,

copic and prismacolor markers, champagne colored  smooch,

lemon spica glitter pen, red stickles

Here is a side view of the image, all shimmery and pretty.

I hope to see you play along with us at Freshly Brewed Challenges

School Days Challenge.

Have a happy and blessed day!

                            Heather

Good Morning!!!

*to check out the Owlsome Fall Hop Winners go HERE*

I am making myself hungry this morning thinking about

leftover pie and coffee on a cool Fall morning!

*sigh* too bad I am trying to watch what I eat... It seems I never had to do that before...

Before marriage, kids, school, stress HAHAHA!!! Sigh *before*

The only thing I miss about *before* was fitting into a size 1 - I would love to get to a size 4 again - but a size 6 will do. At least I can bake and enjoy the smells right? ;) Maybe one little nibble wouldn't hurt.

(Ok little meanie on my shoulder, you hush it up!!!) hahha!!!

Our challenge this week at Freshly Brewed Challenges

is to create a project using this photo as the theme:

It can be colors or apples or however it inspires you!

Let your creativity shine!

Sweet as Pie Rubber Stamp

As you can see, I did not get TOO creative. :D

I pulled from the colors and the whole apple theme for my card.

I am entering this challenge into the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge

as well as the Designed to Color Recipe Hunt challenge.

The hunt was to find all of the recipe ingredients and I found

a colored image, doodling, bling, two or more patterned papers, and twine.

Thank you for stopping by today!

I hope you have a very lovely almost Fall day!

Smiles,

Heather

other challenges:

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Vintage/Shabby Chic - Sparkle

Stamps & Fun = Creativity - Autumn

Use Your Stuff - Apple

Stamptacular Sunday - Bling It On
Stampin Sisters in Christ: handmade - faux stitching

I love school - baby!

I can't believe that it is almost September.

School has already started. We are now in our second week.

I HOPE this week goes a lot more smoothly than last.

The kids have worked hard and have been amazing, however, getting used to the new system of going back and forth between the computer, books, live lessons, videos and everything has made for some VERY LONG (even as long as 8 hour) DAYS.

I surprised the kids with this wall hanging today. I am going to take twine, punch a hole under their name and have a way to add their TO DO list under it. That way they can be better organized and do not have to do all of that hopping. Fingers crossed it works. IF not, it will become a sort of reward hanger thingy :D

At Freshly Brewed Challenges, our month long prize challenge is drawing nearer to a close and it seems with all of the excitement of our blog hops and other challenges, you have all forgotten about it :((

I created a card that can go for this weeks HOT theme as well as our monthly  prize challenge theme

Crabby Baby Digital Stamp

Stop by here and check out the photo inspiration challenge this month for your chance to win 3 free digis!

Also, be sure to snag our blog hop badge for September!

As you can see, it will be an OLDIE BUT GOODIE hop

We will be celebrating and showing off any and all of FBDs already released stamps!

We will have lots of guests, some prizes and some really great deals!

 Hope to see you there!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a happy Monday!

Heather

School Days

We {{barely}} survived our first day of school.
Anyone else out there heard of or use Connections Academy?
We tried it this year, but I am still not sure it was the best decision.
It is in fact driving me insane!!! I just knew I could not afford the $500 - 600 it cost in books again this year.

ANYWAY - We will keep trucking on and see how it goes.
No major decisions yet; just still getting a feel for it. We spent close to 7 hours having school today.
Mostly going back and forth from work books to computers to little tutorial videos to workbooks and so on. I will be working all day tomorrow planning our books and lessons for next week. Maybe if I get everything printed out and ready, we will not be doing so much hopping.

Enough of my rambling. I do have something cute to share with you today.

This card set was created using the digi Big Apple Book Worm.

This was another digi drawn by request, but for someone I know in 'real life' lol.

This digi was for a lady at my daughters dance school. She requested it for a summer reading program or something like that before the summer started.

This is a card set I created for my sister to give out. I kept them really plain and simple. I used an older paper stack - MME Asparagus Stack for these cards. I printed the digi, colored them with sharpie and prismacolor markers,  cut them with the next to largest size lacy scalloped spellbinders die and voila! there you have it, a little gift for someone special.

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. Thank you for stopping by!

Big smiles,

Heather
