Freshly Brewed Challenge - Fall is... #PSL

Happy HUMP Day!
It's NEW CHALLENGE TIME at Freshly Brewed Challenges!
 Wooop wooop!
I am still on a little bit of a caffeine rush carried over from
yesterdays NATIONAL COFFEE DAY party.
I had one cup too many ... wait... is that even possible?!?

ANYWAY...
Our NEW challenge this week is

THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Anything that celebrates outdoors.
Animals, trees, outdoor scenes, etc.

Rubber Stamp: SHE LOVES LATTES
Digital Stamp: PUMPKIN LATTE

I have not yet gotten a PSL... but have a few obsessed friends who have.
I LOVE sweet coffee treats every once in a while, but I usually only drink
Hot, VERY STRONG, BOLD, Coffee with some creamer in it. (unflavored)
mmmmmm... goodness.

I do want to try the Toasted Graham Latte, the Salted Caramel Mocha,
and the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate.

YUMMMMMMMY!!!

I used a lot of RAKed and scrap papers for this card.
The little velvet strip is actually a Martha Stewart Fun Flock sheet.
They weren't really that great to use the way they were intended, but
they make a fun, fuzzy card embellishment. :)
The little felt latte cup was hand cut and sewn by little ol me.
I had fun recreating my PSL out of felt pieces :)

Hope to see you play along with us at Freshly Brewed Challenges this week!

Have a happy and blessed day!

Freshly Brewed Challenges - 3 or more Patterned Papers

I'm on a roll... but the roll stops here. Whew!
Scroll down to check out my post for Word art Wednesday and a post update on my mom <3 p="">

Good morning!
Our newest Freshly Brewed Challenge went live yesterday.
This week we want to see your cards featuring 3 or more patterned papers.

This was a challenge for me because I have been making SO MANY CAS
cards lately. I haven't had time to sit down and make a more detailed, layered card.
I found an image I had colored and slipped into a folder (I know you have them too)
and thought YES! Even though I am super busy, I can whip up a card for this challenge!
I got out the Cutie Pie and got to work. I dug though my paper box / scrap pile and found
some fun things I had forgotten about or never used. (I am a paper hoarder... really!)
I have had this calendar paper (months July - December) for quite some time now.
I am glad I stumbled upon it, because I think it looks really fun with the theme of this card!

Papers: LUXE - It's About Time - Calendar 2
BASIC GREY - 6x6 - ambrosia

I hope to see you playing along with us at Freshly Brewed Challenges!

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Freshly Brewed Challenge AND Word Art Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!
This is going to be a full day for me, so I am putting both of these
posts into one... I hope that is ok...

We are taking my mom to get the rest of her hair cut off and
fitted for a wig. A local shop donates the first wig to cancer / chemo patients,
and she wanted to do the same for my mom. Today is going to be hard, no doubt,
but I am looking at it as one step to her getting better. Prayer and faith and trusting
that He is holding her close is what is helping me through. This woman means SO MUCH to me.
There are NO WORDS that could ever begin to express the kind of person she is.
I am beyond blessed to have her in my life. So thankful she is my mom and my very
best friend.

OK, so here are a few cards I created this week

The first is for our Freshly Brewed Challenges SKETCH challenge this week:

I used one of our NEWEST Digital Stamps:
She is Beauty and Strength

You can play along with us in this fun and simple sketch challenge >>HERE<< at

NEXT UP
is my WORD ART WEDNESDAY Post. I had a lot of fun
creating this card. I forget, until Fall arrives, just how much I LOVE to
create using oranges, browns, and golds. Swoon. I know this card is very CAS,
but I know I am going to make more like this one. Hope you like it too!

I used the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Diecut: Stitched Grand Maple
Papertrey Inc cardstock: orange and Kraft
double sided tape and Martha Stewart extra fine glitter

Thank you so much for stopping by. I am copying and pasting the update from my FBD blog
to here so you can read what is going on in my neck o the woods right now.

UPDATE From Last Week
Some of you already know, but I am adding it here again just in case. My mom was diagnosed with a rare form of uterine cancer in June. She had surgery in July. They think they have removed all of the cancer but are given her aggressive chemotherapy and radiation to be certain.
She had a bad reaction to the chemotherapy the first time and goes back this coming Thursday (Sept 10) for her second round. She has to have 6 of chemo and 3 radiation.
I mentioned last week that I wanted to use sales from the images to purchase her a wig.
I contacted a local shop and they are going to donate her one. In fact, they donate many!
The first wig is free! We go today to cut and shave her hair off and to choose a wig.
I did use sales to purchase her a few head wraps from headwraps.com.
She LOVES them and is really excited to have them. I will still continue to use all sale proceeds to
help and do things for my mom, so thank you in advance for all you are doing to make this possible.

Hugs and God bless,
Heather

Time to PARTY at Word Art Wednesday!

It's the 200th Challenge at Word Art Wednesday and
we want to celebrate with YOU!!!! You are the reason we have the challenges
anyway! To share God's good news with you, fellowship, and create together.
What is better than that?!?

We have SO MANY PRIZES up for grabs and SO many WONDERFUL
Sponsors!!! I mean, WOW!!! You'll have to stop by and check it out

But first, here is the card I created for this weeks AG Challenge

One of our amazing sponsors is SIMON SAYS STAMP.
I was able to use several SSS STAMPtember products on this card including:

SSS Hybrid Stamping Ink Cube Pack: Summer Play
SSS clear stamp set: BASIC STRIPES

I stamped the stripes diagonal then horizontal to create a flannel looking pattern.
I loved using these soft colors for a Fall themed creation.

I hope to see you play along with us at WAW's 200th Challenge Celebration!

Have a very happy and blessed day

Word Art Wednesday: Give Thanks

I just spent a few days at my granny's house.
We visited with her, my aunt, uncle, and a little boy that lives in the neighborhood
nicknamed Little Man. My son loves playing with this kid. :-)
They go to rope swings, play basketball, run around the woods .. you name it!
Things my son never gets to do at home.
My daughter and I sag on the porch and chatted with everyone. We
laughed and talked and had a really good time. Granny cooked us dinner on Monday.
We ate mustard greens, cornbread, pinto beans, turkey breast, real mashed potatoes,
and corn. It was SOOOO GOOD!!! It was so nice to just be there and relax.
The leaves had not all fallen from the trees yet. We got to see lots of pretty colors.
We also got to rake up the ones that had fallen all over granny's yard.
It helped build up our appetites for her wonderful meal and made us feel good
at the same time.

This week's scripture is all about giving thanks.
I don't think I have to go into much detail about how thankful I am
for the last few days I have had. They were wonderful and God blessed us so much!

And here are a few photos from our trip:

Thank you for stopping by.
I hope you have a beautiful and blessed day

In EVERYTHING Give Thanks - Pumpkin

Good Morning!
I have two projects to share with you.
I have a NEW Word Art Wednesday challenge project and
a matching card for a NEW Freshly Brewed Designs challenge.

This weeks WAW Anything Goes Challenge scripture is FREE for you!
*it always is*
You do not have to use it to create your project.
The challenges are always anything goes using family friendly
and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment.
This weeks WAW Sponsors: Daydream Designs  and Heart & Soul Rubber Stamp Co.

We also have a new Freshly Brewed Challenge!
This challenge is to create anything using COLORS OF FALL.
Simple enough right?

Here are my projects:

This was such a fun project to make. I actually cleaned out my craft room. We moved furniture around and I HAD to go through EVERYTHING!!! So I totally did SHOP MY STASH this week. I cut my scrap pile in half by setting a box aside for some friends to go through. The rest will go to a few little girls at dance. I taught a few girls how to make cards and they are hooked.

I cut out several circles using the plantin schoolbook cricut cartridge then cut out a large scalloped circle, leaves, and flourishes using the accent essentials cartridge. The image was paper pieced by printing the image onto patterned cardstock.
The image was cut out using a lacy circles spellbinder die.
I love the glitter!!! It is called  green agate by Martha Stewart. It is a very light, silvery green.
So pretty. I outlined the pumpkin using a glue pen an sprinkled glitter over it.
I used an old watercolor brush from the kids craft supplies to brush away the access glitter.
For the paper pumpkin, I traced the edges with aleens tacky glue and sprinkled the glitter over it.

I tried to get a photo of the crystal fine glitter on the edges of the pumpkins leaves and stem,
but it didn't work out too well for me ;)
Just know its there, lol!

Here is a photo of the top of the pumpkin
that features the free word art wednesday word art file:

And here is a close up of just the little card featuring our newest
digital stamp from Fresh Brewed Designs
PUMPKIN PEEKERS

Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting with me today.
I hope that you enjoyed your stop and that you were inspired to
create and play along in our challenges
but most of all to stop for a minute and think about all that the Lord has done for you.
Good times and hard times. The happy and sad.
Every moment of every single day He is there with us.
Our father, friend, comforter, teacher ...
He is everything and only wants what is best for us.

In EVERYTHING give thanks
because He LOVES you!

It's time for another NEW Digi Release

This release is all about FALL!
Pumpkins, leaves, warm colors...
sigh.
I just love Fall!

For My card I chose to create with the new image
TWISTED STALK PUMPKIN
and

I was literally digging through my scrap pile for some
Fall colored papers when I stumbled upon this text covered paper.
It was already cut into this shape and was PERFECT for the

Oh for the love of PUMPKINS!!!

Happy Wednesday!

I had a sudden boost of mojo and decided to trash my kitchen.
I didn't cook last night. It was our LONG day at dance.
We are there from 4-8 PM on Tuesdays.
I made subs. Yum!!!
SO - if anyone knows me I LOVE coffee and a CLEAN kitchen and living room...
and bathrooms... I keep coming back and adding to my list. HAHAHA!!!
I would prefer a clean house ... but that seems impossible.
I take that back. It is clean, but cluttered and clothes never seem to make it back
to their 'homes'. They like sitting on dressers or in laundry baskets. lol.
All of this leads to my kitchen. It is covered in little orange papers cut from the bottoms of
little orange circles used to create cute little paper pumpkins.
I went a little overboard. I could probably make 100 little pumpkins with all I cut out :D
They are just too cute and fun!
Not only are little bits (and still big bits) of paper covering a large area of my kitchen table,
but ink, stamps, glue, and black glitter are there too.
OH! and PUMPKINS! I have several different little pumpkins made.
Some stamped with spiders. Some just inked. Some tall. Some small. I love them all! :-)

Another thing you may have guessed is that I had too much coffee this morning.
I got up at 5 am to send my hubby to work, got the image I colored last night,
cut her out and planned my card.

I stopped by SCS and decided to use their sketch challenge for this week:

And here she is:

My card featuring
and some sweet paper pumpkins

OK, I am really loving my card. I had so much fun making this!
I haven't had time to get REALLY creative in my cards lately.
I have been too busy. I enjoyed coloring her, adding the doodle dots, choosing
papers that I would normally NEVER put together, adding RIBBON!
I haven'd added ribbon to my cards in forever! and a sweet little brad.
I may have to hoard this card for a while before I send it off ;) hehehe!!!
I know I sound crazy, but I did warn you that I made extra strong coffee this morning and
have had way too much. Or maybe I didn't warn you. I will have to go back and check.
I may have just warned you in my mind! ;) BWAHAHAH!!!

OK, off I go!
I do hope you will play along with us in our PUMPKIN PATCH challenge at
FRESHLY BREWED CHALLENGES. There are only 7 entries so far... and
that just isn't right! I know you are all using pumpkins ;)

****Now for some Fresh Brewed News****
We have TWO new digi releases coming up!

and

Hope to see you there!

Welcome Fall

Good Morning.

I am here to share a NEW DIGI with you!
This image was added to the Fresh Brewed Designs Shop TODAY!

This card was created for our current Freshly Brewed Challenge:

This card showcases the NEW FBD

This card was created using the following SCS Challenges:

I colored this image with mostly prismacolor markers.
The wreath was given texture by using a colorless blender pen.
I added the rings around the rhinestones using a broken eraser.
You know the ones. The ones you buy when your pencils eraser
has broken off. The ones that if you use too much or with too much force
the whole top breaks off leaving the little, thin, tube shaped eraser on your pencil.
Yea, that one. My kids have lots of those ;)

Thank you for stopping by!

Give Thanks - 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Good Morning!
It is time for a few new challenges that I am sure you will all love!!!

First up, it is time for a new WORD ART WEDNESDAY Challenge
There is no Word Art today, but the prize is amazing! You can play along
to win a $15 gift card to Our Daily Bread Designs

Next up, we have a new Freshly Brewed Challenge for you!
We want to see all of your pumpkins!!!

Here is a CAS card I created for this challenge:

Fresh Brewed Digital Sentiment: GIVE THANKS

The try a new technique challenge at SCS is to use a pencil eraser.
The instructed to use the end of an eraser, cut into an eraser,
the options were endless... then stamp with it.
I chose to cut one out and make an image that looked similar
to a pumpkin. I then stamped it into tim holtz distress ink: lipstick,
I drew around the edges with gold smooch then took a black
pigment pen and traced around the images.

Thank you for stopping by.
I do hope you have a very blessed and happy day!

Freshly Brewed Challenges October #1 Challenge - TAGS

We host a biweekly challenge and for this challenge
we want to see.. you already know.. tags!
It can be a project that is a tag or have a tag on your project.

This card was created with a variety of embellishments and papers.
The little tag and bat were gifted to me. I believe they are from SU
The little embossed picket fence was a Christmas gift from my daughter last
year. This was the first time it has been opened and used :-( I distressed it with a
cheap ol ink it up white ink pad. The ghoul-friend sentiment was hand written. The
white cardstock was cut out by hand. I added a witch hat brad and an ADORABLE little spider brad from a making memories toil and trouble set that was gifted to me.

I a confession to make...  I really don't celebrate Halloween.
I never have really. We (my sister, brother and I) went a few times as a child, but not much.
My kids have gone a few times to local trunk or treats or some neighborhood
things. This is not just because of their food allergies, I just never really liked
the holiday all that much ;) lol!!! However, I do have fun creating SWEET,
not spooky, Halloween themed projects for my friends and family that do.
And I like to make treats for the kids at home. We have fun making WORMS for lunch
or dirt cupcakes with the gummy worms coming out. I even made frozen grapes
as eyeballs one year. They didn't eat ANY of these things because they have a mind like their
mama. Sometimes TOO imaginative and it all becomes too real, lol!
I don't know if it is possible to semi-celebrate something or not, but that is what we do I guess.
I want NOTHING to do with the blood, gore, witchcraft, or demonic aspect of it all.
I will just take the cute and sweet please.

I also cut the top of the card with my scissors. This started to become tedious
and I wondered why I started that (smile) I then ran my scissors across the top to make them stand
out and distressed the edges with the same ink it up white ink pad.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.
Now you must think I am even more nuts than before.
Well, you don't know the half of it!
MWAHAHAHAH!!!!!
(just kidding)

I hope you will play along with us at Freshly Brewed Challenges.
Have a very happy and blessed day,

Fall Flashback with Fresh Brewed Designs

It's time for a FALL FLASHBACK!

I love fall *or autumn* whatever you prefer to call it.
Here in the south it is easier to say Fall.
Especially with our southern drawl. LOL!
We just sound weird trying to pronounce autumn.

ANYWAY -
I am so happy to be here sharing some fun, fall themed creations with you!

My first features

I raided my OLD scrap pile that I had long forgotten about and found these papers.
I am not 100% sure of who they are from, but I am going to guess.
If memory serves me correctly, the orange star paper is by making memories: just chillin,
the green is by Martha Stewart: woodland paper pad, and the bg paper is by cosmo cricket.
It was part of a RAK I received a long time ago.
I used my cricut to cut out the little leaves. I also added some Martha Stewart microfine glitter to the pumpkins.

My next card features

This is a very CAS card. Not my usual style at all, but I love it.
I double framed the image and added pop dots behind the orange and brown layers to make it
stand out (It couldn't look TOO plain ;-)
I then used the cricut cartridge: stretch your imagination to cut out the autumn sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by.
I appreciate your visits and your taking time out of your day to say hello.

Please stop by our Freshly Brewed Challenges blog
and check out all of the fantastic design team creations.
They are all amazing and are sure to get you ready for  all things Fall!

Have a happy and blessed day,
                                       Heather
