Merman - Watercolor

OK, so I don't draw many male images... but when I
was sketching up my new mermaid digis, I decided they
HAD to be made. I drew my not so skinny guy, Merlin,
and then his companion, Myrtle. Then I decided to make a more
'handsome' merman. I always have a harder time drawing men, but
was happy with the way he came together.

I visited splitcoast stampsers and saw that they are challenging
us over at the mixability challenge to use the SPARKLING WATERCOLORS technique.

I created my background paper using crayola watercolor. I painted then crumpled the wet paper,  straightened it back out and let it dry. I then added crystal stickles, and
blue smooch. The sandy sea floor was made by adding
Shabby White Frantage to the bottom of the image.

Marinus Digital Stamp - Fresh Brewed Designs

My digital stamp, Marinus, was colored with Copic and prismacolor makers
then painted over with creative inspirations paint: fairy dust.

I do think this project would have looked better as a tag,
but I ran out of time. :(

Thank you for stopping by!

Welcome to the Fresh Brewed Family:

I had Kim colored up weeks ago, but did choose the papers to
go with her until yesterday. I do that ALL The time!
I think to myself, I know I have something pink... so this will work :)
Then I find myself digging and matching and digging more.
I found this ice cream paper I purchased a few years ago
(HOARDER MUCH?)
I purchased it at a LSS and knew I would not be able to find it again,
so I held on to it... It is from sassafras and from what I can read on the scrap it says
Me Likey: Dig In
I have looked up the website on the paper (sassafraslass.com) but no luck!
It always goes to a domain page ..:( sniff sniff

And guess what? I got on the SEQUIN TRAIN!
TOOT TOOT!!!
I found a package of white flat sequins and said to myself, why not?!?
I had so many of these things when I was a young teenager. They were
quite popular in crafting about 16 years ago, lol!!! We purchased huge bags and bags of them...
Like seed beads used to come in huge bags... all for just around $1.
If we only knew now... lol!

It's Finally Friday!

Happy Friday!!!
I know that we have all  been looking forward to this weekend.
The kids have a long weekend, the weather is supposed to be really nice and we will be able to spend some extra time with our family members sharing smiles, having cookouts, and just relaxing.
My weekend is sort of a forced relaxation period spent at home though.
I couldn't leave the house if I wanted to!!!
It is Black Bike Week here and they are expecting over 500,000 bikers... and I live less than a mile from it all. My (policeman) husband works all weekend...
so we are REALLY looking forward to the weekend's end, lol!!!

Enough of my chattering...
I have a fun card to share with you.
Since summer is just around the corner, and I am reallllly SO VERY ready for it,
I decided to break out my summer stamps!

and
*BOTH CURRENTLY ON SALE!*

I used this photo

found at Inspired By  to create this card:
I even got the coke bottle in there :D See it in her beach bag?

While at AC Moore yesterday I spotted a new product. Well, new to our area. I have seen it before online. They had some spectrum noir markers on sale for just under $8 for a set of 6. I purchased a red, brown and turquoise set to try them out .. and I used a coupon for the crafters companion smooth cardstock.  I can't really give an HONEST review at the moment. I like the colors. They seemed to color well.  My lightest turquoise seemed to be dried out, so I am going to return those for another set. For the price, I think they were worth it.  The cardstock seemed to bleed a little easier than the PTI that I normally use.  Probably because the PTI soaks the color in, and this one is smooth and lets it flow. I will have to use it a few more times to get a feel for it, then I will let you know what I REALLY think ;)

I colored this image using the spectrum noir browns for her hair and accessories, all of the red, and the turquoise bag. The sand and sky were colored using prismacolor markers and her skin was colored using copics. I added smooch to add  shimmer on the waves, towel, and sunglasses. The 'coke' bottle was created using glossy accents. The yellow was all glammed up by adding yellow stickles.
