Build Me A Snowman

Let's get ready for some FUN!

This week's Freshly Brewed Challenge is
one of my favorites. I LOVE snowmen and creating winter themed cards!

SO why don't you
BUILD ME A SNOWMAN?

Come play along with us HERE

Here are a few cards I created for this challenge.

Digital Stamp: LET IT SNOW SNOWMAN

This was a super fun card to make!
I used the SCS Twisted Card tutorial for this one.
It was a little confusing, but not really.
Probably because I havent made anything other than a standard A2 card in
well... FOREVER!!!

Top view:

Inside:
(has a pocket to hold a gift card or whatever your creative mind
can think of to add to it! :)

Let's talk about LEFT OVERS!!!
This card is a GREAT way to use scrap papers! I did not keep cutting papers out
the way the tutorial instructed. I cut out a template out of card stock and was able to use
the pieces of scraps to create the panels for these types of cards.
Maybe a little more time consuming, maybe, just a tad, but
was worth it (for me) to be able to use the bits and pieces.
Still have more, mind you. These cuts leave you lots of little acute triangles. Just sayin!
But it is oh so fun!!!

This card is being entered into the JINGLE BELLES holiday left overs challenge
and

Digital Stamp: SNOW WHAT FUN

 I LOVE snowmen.
This image was a fun one to draw and color.
They just make me happy.
I kept the base a simple one layer and added little white snowballs (one by one) to the card front.
I used double sided tape to create the gold glitter stripes

This card is being entered into the following challenges:

Hope to see you play along with us in our challenge.

Have a beautiful and blessed day!

but am happy with the way this turned out :)

Materials:
 Copic Markers: R12, R14, R17
Sharpie Marker: red
White gel pen, red glitter pen
American Craft bookshelf double sided paper: Alcott
Rub on sentiment

Thank you for stopping by today.

LOTS of FUN and COFFEE!!!

Good Morning.

I have a card and little something extra to share with you today!
I don't know where I have found all of this time to create this week,
but I did, and I am thankful because we all know how life gets and
how it could be a month before I post again. :/ But hopefully not.
I have enjoyed creating and have LOTS of images colored in and waiting to
be placed on their new card front 'home'. Until then, they are unhappy and homeless,
and that just isn't good. That will have to change! :D

My first project I am sharing with you is one I created

I used my Fresh Brewed Digital Stamp:

For this card I used all scrap papers (I am making that my mission -
to use more of my HUGE scraps in my HUGE scrap box :D
I colored the image using prismacolor and copic markers.
The edge of the image was embossed using shabby green frantage.

Now for more fun!
My mother in law asked me to create a project for her.
She needed four little monkeys to hang on a tree for her
church to use at Vacation Bible School this year. I admit, I was a little
intimidated. I am afraid of drawing monkeys for some reason. I was afraid
they wouldn't look like monkeys.
I got over my fear and intimidation, sketched them out on notebook paper,
was pretty satisfied, and then began the project. I have to finish them today
(cut them out, laminate them and so on)
I hope the church and the kids love them and that they make the kids smile.

(if you want to see these monkeys turn into digis and make their
way into the Fresh Brewed Designs shop - leave a comment on our
challenge blog post HERE)

Have a very happy and blessed day!

to perk you up ...

Happy Saturday!
It is already a gorgeous day outside. The sun is shining,
birds are singing, the cool breeze is blowing, and God loves me.
What could be better?
I am excited to be done with my housework for the day.
I worked all week and am able to just relax some today.
The kids and I will do some cooking, creating, and reading.
YAY!

I have been somewhat LACKING in my own mojo...
until I recieved an email from my friend, Jeannie, letting me know about a FUN
COFFEE THEMED CHALLENGE at The Card Concept challenge blog.
Coffee? Well Duh! That is right up my ally!
Then, while I was on facebook yesterday for one of my pop in's throughout the day
and stumbled upon a technique challenge at Splitcoaststampers.
I don't USUALLY do anything that takes a few steps to create. (drying time, fancy folds, etc.)
I am usually rushing and don't have time... but this one looked fun so I dug deep and found a little patience
and allowed myself to be ok with not completing a card in 5 minutes ;) lol.
Another thing I don't often do is play along in challenges at SCS.
I am not even sure if I am allowed to enter my card, but regardless, I had fun creating it :)

Fresh Brewed Designs Rubber Stamps:
Sentiment from the SHE LOVES LATTES set
Latte Cup from the CARD BACKER stamp

Materials to create background:

Painters tape :)
Smooch paint: Black

Other materials:
Papertrey inc Cardstock: White and Black
Momento Tuxedo Black Ink
Our lovely lady was colored up using copic markers and prismacolor markes.
(the a little note sentiment was printed in word)

Here is another view of the card so you can see all of the lovely shimmer.
I even put a few drops of the shimmer paint on a tray and brushed the paint
on her jeans, then added some dots to her pants using the black smooch.
It was fun getting all messy.
And believe me! I DID!
My glimmer mist bottle was stopped up, and my inpatient self kept pumping away anyway...
and ended up with blue hands... then I took the cap off and tried pumping it to break
it loose... but all it did was shoot blue ink out of the bottom and all over my foot!
HAHAHA!!! So, in making this card, I also was able to tattoo myself and make
myself shimmery beautiful too :D hehehe!

Thank you for stopping by today.
I do hope you have a lovely and blessed weekend.

                                                                                              Heather

DON'T FORGET!
There are just a few more days left to play along in our

Back To School Riley

This neato thing is called a pillow box :) isn't it adorable!?! My friend Adela is hosting a challenge on the 3D group over on PCP, and I just had to try it out. I was already thinking about what to make for the Hanna Stamps monthly challenge hosted by Niki on SCS ... and the idea popped into my head to combine the two. I know it is a bit unusual for this pillow box to be school related. I did not realize that fact until I posted it and already saved my picture over at SCS. I smiled and clicked to edit.
I know that kids would not take or need a door hanger for school ... that is silly :). HOWEVER in my case it was pure genius ;)~ lol! The kids are always 'claiming' to lose their pencils. I wonder if it is on purpose? lol. hmmm .. :) Well, I thought this little pocked was too cute and would be perfect to hang on the buffet table or the soon to be found / bought / built bookshelf for the kids homeschool books. I love this Riley. So cute! The glasses are what do me in! lol! They are perfect!!!! I really enjoyed making this project.

You can find the download pdf tutorial on how to create one of these fun pencil holders / door hangers for yourself HERE at Papercraft Planet. you may have to be a member.
