For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 / KJV

Welcome: Gardening Granny

Welcome to the Fresh Brewed Digi Family: Gardening Granny

I don't know about you, but there is just something special to me about a Granny (or my granny) :D This post is going to be dedicated to my Granny who was sick and in the hospital for a few days. The image was made prior to her getting sick, but when I saw it I knew I would be able to make some fun cards for her.

No one can garden, cook, play, laugh, tell stories or do much of anything like a granny can. As I was telling someone this morning in blog world (Sheryl actually in reference to someone commenting on how hard Granny worked in her garden) .............Veggies just seem to jump into her basket :) hahaha!!! Really ~ I could go in my garden every day and do everything possible, but Granny ... ~ I imagine it to be one of those Snow White or Cinderella moments where she walks through the garden singing and the birds and animals collect the produce for her! HAHAHA!!!

When Granny was leaving the hospital, she said all she wanted was a cold watermelon. I know that her basket is full of veggies, but we also grow watermelons (or try) so it still works :D

This card was so much fun to make. I call it 'Granny Knows her Stuff '.  Listen to her, you will be glad you did ;) hahaha!!! I stamped the little bees randomly over the green paper and doodled hearts and lines and eyes on the bees.

  2. Hi Heather! I love so many things about Gardening Granny and your adorable cards, I don't know where to start! I love everything from the quality and detail of her basket full of produce to her complete gardening outfit! Your cards are so very bright and cheerful! I love the canning jar you added to the first one. But I think my favorite is the bright red shirt and pretty green printed gardening apron with matching shoes in the second card! And I love the bees you doodled and the sentiment! Like I said, "I LOVE EVERTHING ABOUT GARDENING GRANNY!" I'm adding your granny to my prayers. I hope that she is feeling better!
    Hugs, Sheryl

  3. Once again, you have outdone yourself! This granny is quite possibly one of my FAVORITE images in your whole collection! Both your cards are so fun! Your canning jar made me think of my Grandpa, actually. Every year, he would make "Poppy's Peppers" from the peppers HE grew in HIS garden. It is a "Secret Family Recipe" and I just got my hands on the recipe last summer, after he passed away. Oh, I miss you Poppy!!
While he was out tending his veggies, Grammy would tend to her flower patches and I'll never forget her Morning Glories, growing up the side of the garage... when I was little, they seemed SO tall!
I planted a cherry tree in his memory in their back yard and we planted a perennial flower garden around it's base! Grammy can't get out there anymore to "play in the dirt" and she depends on us to keep it looking as good as we can!
This image just brings back SO many SPECIAL memories of all the times I spent with my Grandparents and all the wonderful things they did and the stories we have to tell!
I love how you managed to squeeze in your "now-famous" clouds, too! (-:
The bees on the second background are just SO perfect with that sentiment!!
I just don't know how you keep coming up with such new and creative ideas!!
You have a GIFT and I'm so pleased that you have shared it with us!!

    Love You!
    Stacie
