For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 / KJV

Be still and know that I am God.

This card was made for a friend of mine that goes to our church. He is a wonderful and kind man that is a new Christian and loves the Lord. I am very lucky to know him. He has not been feeling well the past few weeks, so I decided to make him a card. If any of you know me .. you know that masculine cards are not my specialty! They are SOOO hard for me. This one sortof fell together thanks to the OCC monochromatic challenge this week!!! I have been wanting to use my Be Still set by Sweet and Sassy ... I finally had a good reason to break it out. I am very happy with the way this card turned out and I think he will like it as well. I showed restraint and did not add a ribbon or buttons as much as I wanted to ;). Ha!

I know some of you are curious about the Caardvarks challenges I have been participating in since they are having a DT call ... to be considered you had to participate in all the challenges... and I did... and that stirred a few peoples curiosity whether or not I was trying out. The answer is, even though I really wanted to send my email to them, I did not. I really know that I do not have the style they are looking for. I just REALLY REALLY enjoyed doing the challenges, looking forward to the next and getting my stuff together. I had an absolute blast creating for them this week. Thanks for the fun Caardvarks. I loved every minute of it!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!
I am off to try to get my sore throat to go away. I dont want it here... :/ Blechbleugh! My son just woke up saying he had a sore throat as well. Hannah did a few days ago ... this has got to go away soon :(. UGH!

my last ...

project as guest designer for Courtney at Created by Courtney.

This calendar was made using the Sweet and Sassy set called Be Still. I first stamped this sweet deer image with a clear versamark ink. I added my clear embossing powder and heat set it with my hear gun. After that i used the direct ink approach with my ink it up inks (4 or 5 various colors of browns and greens) then I topped it off with a gold ink. After it looked the way I wanted it to, I took a soft towel and gently removed the ink from the embossed image. I matted this on a sturdy cardstock almost as thick as chipboard, layered it with a piece of cs from the DCWV old world stack, printed the mini calendar off the computer, cut and attached with eyelets.

I realize it is the end of February and a little late for a calendar project :/. I wanted to make a different one for this post, but time escaped me. i did gift this calendar to my friend and secret sister Norma. I hope she enjoys it.

I was also able to make this simple note card set for a friend. I made these fairly simple. I used my martha stewart border punch, ran the CS through my cuttlebug using birds and swirls, cut the scalloped oval out with my nestie, oval out with my cricut, stamped the sent and added to the layered card. I thought this set was so much fun and so easy to work with. It can make a statement with a card full of embellishments as well as a simple card such as these.

I had so much fun creating these projects for you Courtney. Thank you again for the opportunity!

I'm So Excited, and I just can't hide it!

For those of you who say I can not keep a secret .. well I did! A while back in November Courtney asked me to be her first guest designer for her set of stamps called Be Still. My card is featured on her blog as well. I was so shocked and so honored that she would have even thought of me I had to read it several times to even believe it. I may have even pinched myself. Poor Courtney, I probably drove her crazy with the "Who? Me? Are you sure? " emails :o). I love ya Courtney! Thanks for asking me to do this and for trusting me to design some projects for you. For those of you who do not know Courtney ((how could you not?? She is amazing!)) She was one of my very first blogger friends that God placed in my life. She has touched my heart in so many ways. She has been a prayer partner, encouraging, loving, giving, and there for me in more ways than she probably realizes. She is one of the sweetest and understanding women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

This set of stamps is amazing and you can find it here. Courtney drew this herself!!! Really!!! Isn't it beautiful? I was wowed by it but I was also a little intimidated at first on how to use it. I had been doing a lot of cute things, but this was so pretty and so serene. As soon as I got the set in my hands, I went to work and all the things I made fell together. I fell in love with this set very quickly. It is so versatile. The scriptures are so calming and encouraging. I knew that it would be one I would reach for many times. It is even on sale right now at 20% off!!! You cant beat that! I have been browsing Sweet and Sassy stamps a lot lately. I can't wait for some tax money to come in so I an snag a few!
Be sure to pick you up a set of these stamps! I promise you will not be disappointed!
