Beach Days

Two posts in one day?
I am just as shocked as you are!
*wink wink*

I have been out of black in in my printer AND out of my glue runner
for over a month now. OVER A MONTH I TELL YOU!
I don't know how I have survived.
My stamps were able to be inked this week and I have been
digging through my folder of already printed digis to see if I have something I can use
for upcoming challenges. I have been able to survive without ink better than
glue though. I have a TERRIBLE glue runner that will hold somewhat, but I
have had to reinforce everything with glue dots and such. Sigh. I can't wait until
I am able to get to the store and get some glue!!!!!!!!

Now, enough fussing and complaining ;) and on to my project!
I had fun coloring up my
This stamp set comes with ALL of the images shown here.
The fun little beach girl and 3 sentiments for $9
You can find her in the shop >>HERE<<

The weather has been SO nice. Summer is JUST around the corner for sure!

I, again, found all of these papers in my scrap box.
I traced the half circle using my coffee creamer lid (lol... I know...)
and distressed the edges to hide my not so fabulous fussy cutting skillz.

Thank you for stopping by today!
I hope you have a very happy and blessed week ahead.

Freshly Brewed Challenges _ CUTE!!!

Woop Woop!
This week we want to see ALL THINGS CUTE!
Bring on the adorableness - we are ready!

I chose to create with this little bundle of cuteness....

OK... soooooo doesn't this just make you smile?!?
We have had SO MUCH RAIN!
I mean, I think the saying APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS
was written just for this very moment in time.
We are most certainly going to have an abundance of flowers come May ;)

I kept this bright, fresh, and fun!
All of these papers were found in my scrap pile. Even the teal blue.
I know that the purple is PTI and the textured teal is by American Craft.
The multi colored dot paper is also by AC, but I am not sure of the name.
Scrap pile.... you know how that is.

One last peek. The colored water is very sparkly IRL.
I used some regular ol glue, painted it on and sprinkled on some
Martha Stewart loose crystal microfine glitter.

I hope to see you playing along with us at our CUTE challenge

Have a VERY CREATIVE and BLESSED Day!

Freshly Brewed Challenges: Glitter Galore

To see my Word Art Wednesday post go HERE

Good Morning!
I am back with another card!
Can you imagine, two posts on one day! WOW!
I am amazed myself ;) tee hee hee!

What an eventful week it has been.
Dance and school start back this week.
Life gets busy, but I found that if you keep your focus on
God and all the good things he has for you, it all seems to work out.
We are to serve Christ first and in all we do.
Daily chores, tasks, running around - spilling coffee on a newly mopped floor,
getting too hot or too cold ... well, things just set me off and I have a little
'Heather fit' so to speak. I have been trying to remind myself
or check myself ;) before I start.  I have failed a time or two, but
God puts me back on the path pretty quickly.

I have a fun card to share with you.
Our new challenge at Freshly Brewed Challenges is
GLITTER GALORE and boy did I use a ton of it!

I colored my image with a mix of copic markers and
prisma color markers. I used pretty paper from the
Making Memories 6x6 stack: Just Chillin.
The cardstock (white and kraft) are by Papertrey Inc

To add all of this yummy shimmer, I used the following items:
Stickles: waterfall, fruit punch, eucalyptus
Creative Inspirations Paint: Fairy Dust
Martha Stewart Loose Glitter: Mica

I traced around the image using the inside of my oval diecut,
then I trimmed around it leaving her hair, hand, tail and other little areas
extended out over the oval outline.
I then used the same diecut and cut out the kraft scalloped oval to create a frame.
The paper was so pretty, I didn't want to hid or cover it up.
I chose to cut out a wave diecut using my MFT waves die.
I used the paper as a stencil, inked over it, sprinkled Seafoam White
embossing powder over the wet ink and heat embossed the waves.

Praise God!!!

Merman - Watercolor

OK, so I don't draw many male images... but when I
was sketching up my new mermaid digis, I decided they
HAD to be made. I drew my not so skinny guy, Merlin,
and then his companion, Myrtle. Then I decided to make a more
'handsome' merman. I always have a harder time drawing men, but
was happy with the way he came together.

I visited splitcoast stampsers and saw that they are challenging
us over at the mixability challenge to use the SPARKLING WATERCOLORS technique.

I created my background paper using crayola watercolor. I painted then crumpled the wet paper,  straightened it back out and let it dry. I then added crystal stickles, and
blue smooch. The sandy sea floor was made by adding
Shabby White Frantage to the bottom of the image.

Marinus Digital Stamp - Fresh Brewed Designs

My digital stamp, Marinus, was colored with Copic and prismacolor makers
then painted over with creative inspirations paint: fairy dust.

I do think this project would have looked better as a tag,
but I ran out of time. :(

Thank you for stopping by!
Please check out our digital stamp relase post HERE
for your chance at winning a digi from the release.
You have until 11:59 PM TONIGHT, August 9,  to play along.

Have a very blessed day!

Shimmery Mermaid - MEMORY

I just LOVE shimmer, don't you?
Anything glittery just catches my eye.
While talking to my friend Lori this morning, I was
inspired to get out my already colored image and
turn it into a card. I haven't had much time to create lately,
so I was happy she kept me chatting long enough to sit down and finish it.
Yes, I typed and glued and painted and typed...
but it was worth it. I do really like the end result.
And I don't say that too often.

I have always been fascinated by mermaids as a child.
Perhaps it was my love for the cartoon
The Little Mermaid
that started my obsession (for lack of better word. I am not really obsessed, lol)
Anyway, I love drawing, coloring and creating mermaids.
They are whimsical, mysterious and fun.
I hope you enjoy my mermaid drawings / creations too.

Here is a card I created using one of my
newest drawings:

My image was colored using Prismacolor Markers
and Copic Markers

Cardstock: PTI Kraft
Designer papers: the girls paperie: paper girl

All that glitters:
mini glitter stars, SU rhinestones, Aleen's paper glaze, creative inspirations
paint: Fairy dust, gold smooch, WOW SC glitter: Chocolate, gold glass micro beads.

FBD Digi Release - August - WAVES OF FUN

Good Morning!
Can you believe it is time for another fun digi release
from
FRESH BREWED DESIGNS?
I am the owner, and I still can't believe it :)
This summer has flown by, so I decided to create several new mermaid digital stamps
to hopefully capture one last glimpse of the magic it brings.

For my cards, I chose to create with
MALUHA and MARISOL

First up is MARISOL
*one name meaning: loneliness

I LOVE her! Don't you?
I am so critical of myself when drawing / sketching things.
She was one of those that just HAPPENED.
The pencil drew her and I watched her be created.
Coloring my own images is a whole different experience.
I think that my mind gets away from the fact that I actually drew her,
then focuses on bringing the image (Marisol in this instance)
to life. I really enjoyed coloring her, adding the touches of glitter,
seashells, and gold glass beads.

{Here is a closer look of the glass beads}

The background paper was also fun to create.
I got out my kids old crayola watercolor and went to town!
I was flinging paint and splattering it and having so much fun.
THEN I came back into the kitchen to wash my hands and found
that I had splattered paint up the entire wall, all over the cabinets and
UNDER the cabinets as well. OOPS!! Thankfully it wiped right up :)
While the paint was still wet, I added salt to create the distressed look, let it
dry, then added spots of glitter and some gold frantage.

Now it is time to meet
*name meaning: Peace, serenity

I kept in the same color families when shading this image.
I chose a charcoal grey for the background to give it a dreamier, sort of
dusky feel. The paper was created the same was as the first.
The sentiment is a rub on.

Here is a photo of the sparkle and glass beads.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

all of the fantastic creations from our DT and GUESTS, Vanessa and Jeannie!

A NEW Challenge + A NEW Digi Release = FUN FUN FUN!!!

Happy Wednesday!
I hope you are all having a happy and blessed week so far.
I have so many things to be thankful for, I can't even begin to list them all!

I will start by letting you know that today is my dear and sweet friend  Sheryl's birthday.
She is such a blessing in my life and I am so glad that God brought us together.
She is not only a wonderful and caring friend, but she is also an amazing
card designer. She helps me out so much and is such an encouragement.
Sheryl, I hope you have a very beautiful and happy birthday!

In honor of her special day,
I chose to create with our NEW Digi: CUTIE BUG GIFT

I used the splitcoast stampers Wednesday sketch for this card

This card was created using papers from my huge scrap box. I have had them
FOREVER and have no idea what line they came from. The twine and textured fabric
are also from a huge messy box of ribbon madness.
The red felt is actually a flocking transfer sheet by Martha Stewart.
Other materials: Spellbinders die: Scalloped circles,  pearlex powders, prismacolor markers,
white gel pen, and a SU sentiment stamp.

(Close up of painted on sparkle)

The next card I have to share with you is for our NEW June challenge at FBC.

The challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to create a NEW project using
the colors RED WHITE AND BLUE

My card features the Fresh Brewed Designs Digital Stamp:
BOB

I also used the splitcoast stampers Wednesday sketch for this card

Materials: SCRAP PAPERS (blue cs is by bazzil I think)
Darcie embossing folder: clouds
Prismacolor markers, copic markers,  and a white gel pen

I added a sentiment to the inside of the card using a printed sentiment
and cut it out with a PTI Cloud diecut

Thank you so much for stopping by today and checking out my SUPER LONG POST!

Take time to RELAX

Good Morning!
It's time for a NEW PRIZE CHALLENGE at
FRESHLY BREWED CHALLENGES!
Woot woot!
We are challenging everyone this month to show us their creations
featuring the Beach or Ocean and Glitter.
{{GO HERE to play along}}

For my card, I did something I have never ever ever done
before. I printed the image where it was centered on my card,
colored it in and added some glitter.
 THAT'S IT!!!

I can't think of a time I have
NEVER added designer paper OR a cut out or framed image.
It still makes a nice statement and was a lot of fun to create.

I printed this image onto Papertrey Inc white cardstock
I then colored this image with a variety of prismacolor, sharpie
and copic markers. The glitter is by American Craft:
SPARK! - Peacock

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have a very blessed day.

Sunshine Sparkles

  Good  Morning!
I don't know how the weather is where you live, but
we will be hitting some very high temps here today.
The worst thing is the heat index and humidity.
Guess we will be packing LOTS of water for my little girls
dance showcase rehearsal!
(all week long!)

I have a simple summery creation to share with you today.

My card featured  the Fresh Brewed Designs rubber stamp

I used some scrap papers from my stash for this card.
The card base and sand that Cordelia is sitting on  was
spritzed and painted with tattered angles silver glimmer mist.
She was colored using copic and prismacolor markers.
The waves were created using a MFT Diecut and the clouds
are from a PTI Diecut.

Here is a photo to show off the way the waves and papers pop off of the card base.
It also shows off  her sparkly highlights created with eucalyptus stickles.
