Coffee Lovers Blog Hop + Blog Candy!!!

Forgive me, yesterdays post was thrown together. My son has the flu as I mentioned, 

and I was running back and forth between writing the post and checking on him. 

I didn't even come back to edit or fix anything. Please forgive me. 

While he napped, I sat by him and put this little card together for the

I decided to make what I felt was a true coffee lovers creation. 

I used the Fresh Brewed Designs Rubber Stamp:

COFFEE, TAKE ME AWAY

Who wouldn't love relaxing in a coffee shaped tub, sipping on fresh brewed coffee, 

and having some aroma therapy coffee beans by their side! lol!!!

I found all of these fun embellishments and papers in a kit

 by the Girls Paperie at Tuesday Morning.

They are probably old... and I have hoarded them a LONG time... but

thought I would use them in honor of this wonderful event :-)

Stickles, sequins, and a super sparkly ice blue button make this card shimmer and shine!

The paper embellis were such fun to layer. I had to add the clock in honor of my own

blog name: Heather's Coffee Break. And the lace adds the touch of softness. 

I sure hope my son gets over this flu thing fast and that no one else catches it.

Go ahead and know this will be me next week.. minus the coffee shaped tub... lol!

I had so much fun drawing up these little digis!

Little Daffodil poured from my pencil as I was sketching, her little friend Daisy was soon to follow.

I think spring is one of the most beautiful of all the seasons. 

It makes me think about new life, beautiful flowers blooming, the sun shining, 

and we get to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday.

Well, I don't just celebrate his life on Easter, I try to celebrate it every day! 

He loves us so much!

Banners for Special Needs Kids

As joyous as Christmas is for most families, for some, their holidays are filled with worry, medical treatments and tests, and pain -- for their child must be hospitalized or she or he needs long-term care rather than being home with their families.  For these kids, Santa doesn't slip down a chimney but rather, often comes in the guise of community volunteers who help make the season bright.


This is the second Christmas season that our own band of dedicated and loving paper crafters have come together to make Holiday banners for children who are too sick to be home for the holidays.  Welcome to the Christmas Banners for Special Needs Kids blog hop! It is my first year to participate and I am very honored and grateful to be a part of this special event.

Not only has the number of crafters grown this year, but Ellen has teamed up with Madison Womack's I FEEL THE LOVE PROJECT.  The banners our crafters have handmade will be going to the hospitalized children at Children's Hospital Central California! 
First, let me show you the banner I made for today's post. I'll be sending this to Madison and the children at CHCC who are benefiting from the I Feel the Love project in December:

This first banner was the FIRST banner I have EVER created IN MY LIFE!

I had a blast making this. It was intimidating at first, but turned out to be a lot of fun. 

Each banner piece was hand drawn and colored.

My second banner was created using the triangle scraps from the first. The banner is thinner and daintier looking. I used the Fresh Brewed Designs Cutie Pie Ice Skating Stamp that I am sponsoring this hop with.
The penguin and the rest of the images were hand drawn.

We are so excited to release a few stamps to help celebrate these occasions.

First I will share with you our BEAUTIFUL BRIDE

I kept the colors muted and soft and vintage looking. 

The vellum overlay really helped add to the softness of the card. 

Her dress was made extra sparky thanks to the ever so lovely diamond stickles.

What is this hop all about you ask???

Sweet Talking!!!

Rich, creamy, chocolaty, fruity, thick, airy, light, sweet and delicious! Desert. Something we all LOVE and crave. Summer time is the perfect time to try new ice cream flavors, add fresh  fruits to our favorite cakes, pies and cold drinks. You know what I am talking about... and I know your mouth is watering already :).

Fresh Brewed Designs has their own special recipe for SWEET things and added a few new ingredients to their already darling Angel Cakes for this image release. Angel Cake loves summer and ice cream and hanging out with her new best friend Huckleberry Pie.

Along this hop you will see Angel, Huck, and some too sweet for words images that have been added to the Fresh Brewed Designs shop. I chose to share one of each of the new Angel Cakes with you.

First up is little Angel Cake wishing for Gumballs. What little kid would not break their piggy bank for the change to get a huge gumball? We would not let them of course ;), but the temptation is too hard for a little one to resist :D

Next up is our newest member Huckleberry Pie. He is just sweetly standing all dressed up and ready to bring a smile to the next person who passes by. Always eager to help those in need and always there to share a kind word. A true little gentlemen he is.
