My Monster

My Monster

I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. We do not really celebrate Halloween here. We took the kids to some church functions or out getting treats at local shops in the past, but with their allergies (milk, eggs and nuts) we really can not risk it. Hannah is part of a little dance called Hallowscream with her school. They have been practicing purple people eater and she has had a blast! We made these fun treats for her jazz class today since it will be the last time they will be practicing it all together before the show. Han had a blast coloring them and making the little sour cream containers. They turned out pretty cute I think :). She did MOST of the work herself. You know I had to draw a little monster to go with her treats she wanted to hand out. I call him My Monster. I love him :) lol. He just makes me smile. And he totally does not have to be Halloween I think. I can see him altered holding a balloon for a birthday ... I will be thinking of more things I can do with him for sure. This card is for Hannah's teacher Kate. I am so cheesy and a total goob when I give out my cards. Oh well. I am embarrassed easily. Her little classmates seemed to like their treats. Hannah was very proud of them.

I am submitting this card to the OCC challenge which is your favorite Holiday book or movie. This one is already obviously for the Purple People Eater :) lol! I hope it counts. There was a movie, lol... not really a favorite ;) but there was one, lol!!! hahaha!!!

I have something new for you today. The challenge at Cute CArd Thursday was Candy Corn! Perfect!!! I am also entering it to these fun challenges for the first time~ Crafty Creations: All Hallow's Eve, Stamp Something Friday and Creative Inspirations: Halloween. This image just popped into my head and had to be created. I have never drawn and created and shared an image with you quite this fast. I had to since Halloween is right around the corner:).You can find this image, the sweetest mummy, in my shop: Fresh Brewed Designs. I think these candy corn are so funny! My mom made pin and earring sets when I was in high school that look very similar to these little guys. I showed my mom my images and she reminded me. Oops!!! So I put a new spin on them by dressing them up. My mom approved and loves them:). I had some old tissue paper from last year that had candy corn on it. I decided to decoupage a piece of card stock, cover it in glitter and create this fun background. I also used some ribbon I found last year at walmart for a buck that was covered in sweet candy corn. I colored this sweetie with prismacolor markers. I hope this made you smile. HAve a wonderful weekend, or what is left of it. I am off to get some coffee ((Barnies Santa's White Christmas in fact. For those of you who knew ... I did not make it last night like I had planned. Last night went a little loopy on me, lol! So I am enjoying it tonight and hopefully finding a few minutes to relax.) 2 Cards 2 Challenges 2 Sweet

Good Morning. I hope you are all having a wonderful Monday so far. My house if full of the sickies, OJ, tissue, and just being plain lazy. I know I will have to do extra catch up tomorrow and will be frustrated .. but at the moment, I just don't care. The kids and I have been sitting on the couch together just resting.

These cards are both for challenges I have not participated in until today!!! :) I found them on another blog and was very excited to have some new challenges to try out. The first is for the Creative Card Crew Challenge. The challenge was to decorate the inside of your card. I decorated both of the insides of these cards the same. I kept it simple, but thought it was cute.
The second challenge was for Creative Inspirations : Fall theme. I think Fall is a mix of leaves, pumpkins, turkey and candy corn :) lol! I used my hand drawn digi Candy Corn images (Mr. Corn and Candy his wife) that you can find HERE at Fresh Brewed Designs for these cards. I kept the layout pretty simple for these to showoff the images. These little guys just make me happy. I hope they bring a smile to your face as well. The other stamps I used to make these cards include Martha Stewart: Wishing you a Sweet Holiday, Inkadinkado: Happy Halloween, and Stampabilibies: Small Candy corn.
